Crown Hardwood Co., Inc. is seeking a hands-on, strategic CONTROLLER to lead finance for our U.S. operations and partner directly with ownership in shaping the future of the business. As Controller, you will:
- Own and lead all accounting and financial operations
- Serve as a key financial advisor to ownership
- Drive financial visibility, performance, and decision-making
- Strengthen systems, processes, and internal controls
- Help position the company for long-term growth and success
This role blends hands-on execution with strategic impact in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.
What You’ll Do: Financial Leadership & Reporting
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (U.S. GAAP)
- Oversee the month-end close process
- Deliver insights, dashboards, and KPIs to support leadership decisions
- Prepare consolidated reporting across related entities
Accounting Operations
- Oversee full-cycle accounting: GL, AP/AR, cash, payroll, fixed assets
- Manage inventory and cost accounting (critical to our business)
- Lead multi-entity and intercompany accounting
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Lead budgeting and forecasting
- Analyze margins, inventory, and operational performance
- Provide actionable insights to improve profitability
Treasury & Banking
- Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
- Maintain relationships with banks and lenders
- Support financing and capital planning
Strategic Partnership
- Partner with ownership on growth initiatives and business decisions
- Support financial evaluation of investments and operations
- Continuously improve systems and reporting capabilities
Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
- Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 10–15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience with multi-entity accounting environments
- Advanced Excel and accounting systems expertise
- Proven ability to translate financial data into business insights
Preferred
- CPA designation
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven industries
- Background in family-owned or privately held businesses
- Experience with ERP systems and process improvements
- Exposure to international operations or trade
