Crown Hardwood Co., Inc. is seeking a hands-on, strategic CONTROLLER to lead finance for our U.S. operations and partner directly with ownership in shaping the future of the business. This is a unique opportunity to step into a high-impact leadership role within a fifth-generation, family-owned global wood products company with deep roots and a forward-looking mindset.

As Controller, you will:

• Own and lead all accounting and financial operations
• Serve as a key financial advisor to ownership
• Drive financial visibility, performance, and decision-making
• Strengthen systems, processes, and internal controls
• Help position the company for long-term growth and success

This role blends hands-on execution with strategic impact in a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

What You’ll Do: Financial Leadership & Reporting

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting (U.S. GAAP)
• Oversee the month-end close process
• Deliver insights, dashboards, and KPIs to support leadership decisions
• Prepare consolidated reporting across related entities

Accounting Operations

• Oversee full-cycle accounting: GL, AP/AR, cash, payroll, fixed assets
• Manage inventory and cost accounting (critical to our business)
• Lead multi-entity and intercompany accounting
• Strengthen internal controls and financial processes

Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead budgeting and forecasting
• Analyze margins, inventory, and operational performance
• Provide actionable insights to improve profitability

Treasury & Banking

• Manage cash flow, liquidity, and working capital
• Maintain relationships with banks and lenders
• Support financing and capital planning

Strategic Partnership

• Partner with ownership on growth initiatives and business decisions
• Support financial evaluation of investments and operations
• Continuously improve systems and reporting capabilities

Leadership

• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff
• Build a culture of accountability, accuracy, and continuous improvement

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 10–15 years of progressive accounting/finance experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
• Experience with multi-entity accounting environments
• Advanced Excel and accounting systems expertise
• Proven ability to translate financial data into business insights

Preferred

• CPA designation
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or inventory-driven industries
• Background in family-owned or privately held businesses
• Experience with ERP systems and process improvements
• Exposure to international operations or trade
