We are seeking experienced Marine Mechanical Technicians to support testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and operation of shipboard mechanical systems aboard marine vessels. This position is ideal for candidates with experience in marine diesel engines, propulsion systems, auxiliary equipment, hydro testing, shipyard operations, or mechanical commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of shipboard mechanical systems
- Operate and monitor marine diesel engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment
- Set up and conduct hydrostatic testing and system pressure testing
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Collect and analyze system data including pressure, temperature, flow, and performance readings
- Support sea trials and dock trials
- Calibrate and install gauges, instrumentation, and test equipment
- Follow Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO) procedures and safety standards
- Maintain testing records and documentation
- Work in confined spaces, elevated areas, and shipboard environments
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of experience in one or more of the following:
- Marine Mechanical Systems
- Marine Diesel Engines
- Propulsion Systems
- Auxiliary Systems
- Hydro Testing
- Commissioning & Testing
- Shipyard Mechanical Operations
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work overtime as needed
Preferred Experience:
- Shipyard experience
- Marine commissioning
- Hydrostatic testing
- Naval vessel experience
- Mechanical testing and trials
