What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Baseball Coach position at Crown College?
Stipend position; 8:00-4:30, Monday through Friday, evenings and weekends required.
The Head Assistant Coach will support the Head Coach in all aspects of the baseball program, including player development, practice planning, game preparation, recruitment, and retention of student-athletes. The Head Assistant Coach is committed to Crown College’s Commitments and Core Values. SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
The assistant baseball coach reports to the head coach.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
· Assist the Head Coach in developing and implementing practice plans, training regimen, spiritual development of student-athletes and game strategies via data collection. (Rapsodo, Blast Motion, ArmCare.com)
· Provide instruction through coaching individualized/team development, game techniques, and overall student-athlete skill set.
· Strategize and implement recruitment plans in two-year cycles by evaluating talent, attending showcases, and communicating with potential recruits and their families.
· Recruit student-athletes to play competitive baseball who can be successful academically, athletically, spiritually at Crown College.
· Assist the Head Coach when hosting recruits on their on-campus visits.
· Monitor the academic progress of student athletes and encourages integrity through the acquisition of knowledge as a scholarly student-athlete.
· Assist the Head Coach in proficiently monitoring academic progress for degree completion with all student athletes.
· Support the spiritual formation components of the team, along with understanding the core philosophies of the Crown Statement of Faith. Will work alongside the Campus Pastor in development of a strategic plan in relation to the spiritual aspects of the team.
· Engage in the promotion of Crown College in the surrounding communities, fundraising events, and alumni functions throughout the calendar year.
· Maintains compliance with the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) and NCAA rules and regulations, as well as Crown College policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach or Athletic Director.
EQUIPMENT/JOB LOCATION: Works from an office at Crown College. Equipment used includes, but is not limited to, personal computer and required programs, printer, telephone, calculator, copy machines, and other equipment as the position requires.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field and previous coaching experience required. While not required, previous experience as a college student-athlete is ideal.

· Master’s degree
· Experience in intercollegiate athletics as an athlete
· Experience in intercollegiate athletics as a coach
