Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers in selecting products, offering knowledgeable advice and conducting engaging product demos when appropriate
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and processing payments efficiently
- Upsell products by identifying customer needs and recommending additional items to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain merchandising standards by stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the sales floor is clean and inviting
- Stock replenishment, stock rotation, and participating in periodic stock counts
- Demonstrate strong phone etiquette when communicating with customers or vendors, ensuring clear and professional interactions
- Apply basic retail math skills for cash register operations, pricing accuracy, and transaction balancing
- Supervise or assist in supervising team members when needed, fostering a collaborative environment focused on achieving sales goals
Qualifications
- Must be 21 years or older.
- Must be able to lift 30lbs.
- Previous retail sales experience is preferred; experience with grocery stores or similar environments is a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and retail math calculations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are advantageous
- Proven customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory management
- Experience in merchandising, stocking, and product demonstrations highly desirable
