JOB TITLE: Territory Sales Representative DEPARTMENT: Sales – SLI Products Group
JOB SUMMARY: Generates sales from new customers and maintains existing business of assigned sales territory
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly identifies, qualifies, and opens new accounts
- Makes joint calls with authorized channel representatives to develop and secure new business
- Manages activities to maintain and retain existing business within the assigned territory
- Assists in training authorized channel representative’s sales personnel
- Supports the national accounts effort for opportunities within their territory
- Provides input about market and territory trends and meets annual territory sales goals
- Acts as a liaison between the sales territory and Crown Battery’s manufacturing operations
- Assists management with long-range territory planning: monthly, quarterly, annual, and other forecasts
- Be familiar and compliant with the systems, procedures, and documentation of the Crown Quality System and how it relates to this position and Crown Battery quality objectives
ACCOUNTABILITY: Reports to Director of Sales
COMPENTENCIES: Demonstrated sales success (specifically in opening new accounts and in some form of technical sales); sales territory organization; and sales forecasting
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2- or 4-year degree
- 5 years outside sales experience in a relevant automotive, heavy-duty, or diesel parts industry, preferred
- Safety training – ability to complete and follow company-administered safety training program
- Valid driver’s license
- Able to pass a background check and drug screening
GENERAL INFORMATION: Position requires extensive travel and market planning. Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
