SUMMARY: Responsible for mechanical diagnostics, repair and maintenance of diesel and gasoline industrial trucks, and any other industrial machinery.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete inspections, maintenance and repairs on trucks, trailers, pickups, forklifts, and other heavy-duty equipment.
  • Keep track of important system components such as diesel engines, transmissions, braking systems, electrical systems, cooling systems, steering and suspension systems.
  • Ability to use maintenance software programs, laptops, and hand-held computers to aid in equipment diagnostics.
  • Maintain proper service records on work completed in Vehicle Maintenance Systems (VMS) tracking parts and labor with clear, concise, and complete comments.
  • Read and sign off on Daily Vehicle Inspection Records (DVIR) in Motive.
  • Ability to document systems accurately and in a timely manner.

COMPENSATION: In addition to competitive wages, we offer:

  • Sign-on Bonus of $3,500.00.
  • Annual Company/Employee Performance Bonus up to 6% of annual salary.
  • Merit Increase based on Company and Employee performance.

EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of related experience with diesel and gasoline engines, and heavy equipment repair.
  • Must be able to accurately and in a timely manner document maintenance and labor activities in the proper maintenance and compliance systems.
  • Also, must be able to accurately record hours worked.

OTHER:

  • Forklift certification is preferred and will be required after completion of the introductory period.
  • Class A or B CDL is preferred.
  • Willing to travel to other locations as needed, not longer than one week at a time.
  • The requirements above are mapped to the Career Band Level of S2. Candidates with more experience and a wider skill set could be considered for Career Band Levels S3 to S4.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Familiar with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and make independent technical decisions to make timely and effective repairs and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to identify safety hazards and necessary safety precautions to establish a safe work environment.
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and etiquette. Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and also outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
