What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Appraiser and Buyer position at Crowley Car Company?
Lexus El Cajon is looking for a full time Vehicle Appraiser to join our team. In this role, the Vehicle Appraiser is responsible for purchasing used vehicles for the dealership.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Establish rapport with Service Lane customers that are in equity positions to procure their vehicles.
- Hold appointments with customers interested in selling their vehicles
- Follow up and reach out to customer leads - place calls, send emails, and text daily
- Answer all incoming communications - calls, texts, and emails
- Schedule appointments for purchase opportunities
- Conduct thorough appraisals of customer vehicles
- Promptly respond to customer inquiries in writing and in live conversations (via phone and in person)
- Negotiate price and offering to customer
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on vehicle statistics and market trends
- Navigate software systems for leads and reporting - eLeads, CDK, Outlook, Excel, Kelly Blue Book website (KBB), etc.
- Complete appropriate DMV paperwork for vehicle purchases
- Accurately update software systems with all required information, including but not limited to complete history of all customer contact
What are the requirements for this job?
- Sales skills - ability to leverage specialized car knowledge and quickly develop positive rapport to influence customer decisions
- Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone, and in writing
- Ability to interact with customers with efficiency and courtesy
- Ability to listen and answer customer questions on the phone, in writing, and in person
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Fluency in additional languages a plus
- Previous sales, call center, or automotive industry experience a plus

Pay Range: $50,000 to $100,000 per year. Base hourly rate plus unit purchase bonus.
