Overview
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and experience in repairing and maintaining diesel engines and related equipment. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently as well as part of a team, ensuring that all machinery operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic tests on diesel engines and industrial equipment to identify issues.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, including but not limited to oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot mechanical problems.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including electrical systems, HVAC systems, and hydraulic systems.
- Fabricate parts as necessary to ensure equipment functionality.
- Align components and ensure proper installation of parts according to specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed on equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in diesel mechanics or a related field.
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and industrial equipment repair.
- Ability to solder and align components effectively.
- Experience working with Caterpillar engines is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with colleagues.
