Primary function of a Co-Op/Intern: The internship is an introduction to all aspects of how to operate a business and each department at the corporate level and the various aspects that contribute to running a successful business. Observe and learn to analyze and resolve work problems.
Typical Duties Include, but are not limited to:
Work in Accounting Department
- Introduction to financial statements and how to interpret them for meaningful information
Work in Payroll
- Review of the details that go into the processing of payroll
- Quarterly reporting requirements for all states and federal government
Work in Accounts Payable
- Must pay vendors and review strategies to control cash flow
Work in Employee Services
- Overview of personnel and benefits. Including the onboarding process, drug testing, enrolling employee in benefits
Work with Crowder YOUniversity
- Overview of employee development
- Training initiatives
Work in Marketing
- How to sell your company to potential owners and the importance
Work with Business Development
- Growing the business is required to expand a company's footprint
- The role of a board with regards to high level goal and direction setting
Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications & Experience:
- Able to rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked
- Able to work with precise limits or standards of accuracy
- Perform a variety of duties that may change often
- Use reason and logic
- Familiar with Microsoft Office Suite
- Has a team mentality
Essential Functions:
- Work easily and skillfully with each department at the corporate office
- Sit at a computer for 4-8 hours a day
