What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Grounds Worker position at Crow Wing, County of (MN)?
OPEN UNTIL FILLED WITH FIRST CONSIDERATION THE WEEK OF APRIL 20TH.
This is a temporary student worker position limited to not more than 640 hours per calendar year. Student worker requirements, defined as person who has graduated from post-secondary institution and is within two weeks of graduation or currently a student of a post-secondary institution. This position will be for the months of May through August 2026.
This position will be assigned a variety of general grounds keeping duties, the makeup of which will vary based on staffing, maintenance needs, projects, seasonal requirements and related factors. Grounds keeping duties may include any or all of the following: lawn and landscape care, mowing, trimming, weeding, trash and litter removal, seasonal maintenance and snow and ice removal. Additional duties including building security, opening and securing buildings, office relocations, furniture, freight and/or supply moving and/or assist with other repair and or maintenance duties as may be assigned as needed to effectively maintain all buildings and grounds in a manner that ensures operational and service excellence.
- Performs grounds keeping duties including mowing, trimming, raking, edging, weeding, trash, debris and litter removal, operation of irrigation systems and other duties relating to lawn, landscape and hardscape maintenance as assigned in an effective and efficient manner.
- Performs seasonal maintenance including raking, mulching, chemical applications and related activities as assigned in an effective and efficient manner.
- Performs snow and ice removal as needed to maintain functionality and safety of all facilities.
- Assists Facilities staff with project work and related maintenance, grounds and/or custodial assignments as assigned in a professional and effective manner.
- Performs all other related duties as assigned in a professional and effective manner.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Experience in grounds keeping and seasonal maintenance is desired.
- Valid state issued driver's license.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform grounds keeping work including lawn care, landscape care, ice and snow removal in a commercial environment in a safe and effective manner.
- Knowledge of OSHA safety regulations.
- Ability to independently complete work in an effective and timely manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external contacts.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
