Duties

- Administer vaccinations and medications as prescribed.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with staff and pet owners.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each animal treated.
- Provide guidance on animal husbandry, nutrition, and preventive care to pet owners.
- Handle animals safely and humanely during examinations and treatments.
- Collaborate with veterinary technicians and support staff to ensure efficient clinic operations.
- Stay updated on advancements in veterinary medicine and participate in continuing education.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited institution.
- Valid veterinary license to practice in the state.
- Veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable.
- Proficient in animal restraint techniques and handling various species.
- Strong knowledge of animal physiology, anatomy, and veterinary terminology.
- Experience in laboratory procedures related to animal care is a plus.
- Familiarity with pet grooming practices and aseptic techniques preferred.
- Equine experience is an advantage for those working with larger animals.
