Position Summary:
The Grounds and Maintenance Technician supports Crow Canyon’s mission by performing highly diversified duties which include maintaining our fleet vehicles, as well as maintaining the safety and appearance of the campus grounds. This role works collaboratively across departments to provide assistance with troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing buildings, equipment, plumbing, and providing a safe and secure environment for employees, campus visitors, and program participants, including children.

You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team on a campus surrounded by nature, history, and community. Whether you’re repairing equipment, maintaining irrigation systems, or preparing spaces for programs, your contributions help power a mission that matters.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED), experience in grounds maintenance and the operation of hand and power tools, knowledge of plumbing and electrical systems (both commercial and residential), experience in vehicle maintenance and assessment, and/or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. Basic computer skills preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Vehicles
- Conduct routine maintenance and safety inspections on fleet vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, fuel use, and readiness for program needs.
Grounds
- Perform scheduled upkeep of campus grounds, including lawn care and debris removal.
- Ensure proper operation of irrigation, wastewater, and fire prevention systems.
Buildings
- Complete regular inspections and minor repairs (carpentry, plumbing, electrical).
- Support preventative maintenance schedules and assist with event setup as needed.
General
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean, orderly work areas.
- Provide backup custodial support, and other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Perform a variety of plumbing, maintenance, and carpentry tasks
- Read and interpret equipment and repair manuals
- Diagnose problems; replace or repair equipment and plumbing
- Operate various types of hand tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Operate various types of mechanical equipment safely and efficiently

Physical Demands:
The employee must be able to:
- Occasionally lift, pull, and push up to 75 pounds
- Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
- Reach overhead
- Perform heavy manual labor
- Ascend and descend stairs
- Work in various positions, including, but not limited to: stooping, kneeling, squatting, crawling, bending over, or standing for extended periods of time to perform essential maintenance tasks
- Legally and safely operate a 15-passenger van
- Work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
- Work extended hours outdoors in varying weather conditions

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations:
- Background check upon hire
