7 Irving- Perinatal is a 54 bed unit within Kienzle Family Maternity Center. Perinatal nurses provide patient and family centered antepartum, postpartum and newborn care, working closely with other disciplines including but not limited to, lactation consultants, birth registrars, and care coordination.
A Registered Professional Nurse is responsible for the planning, implementing and evaluation of care for a given patient population with the established standards and practices of Crouse Hospital. This process is enacted through direct clinical practice, management of patient care and general professional duties.

Education/Experience Requirements
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited associate degree
- Must complete NCLEX within 120 days.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing from accredited nursing program or higher degree
- Bachelor’s degree required within 8 years of being hired or those licensed after 2017.
Required:
- Current New York State licensure as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) at end of orientation
- Certification in a specialty area.
- PALS required within one year
- ACLS required within one year
