Coach - Assistant Coach - Varsity Baseball

Location: Croton-Harmon School DistrictReports To: Director of AthleticsEmployment Type: Seasonal - Stipend PositionPosition Overview: The Croton-Harmon School District is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Varsity Assistant Coach to lead our student-athletes in both athletic development and character building. The Varsity Assistant Coach will be responsible for overseeing aspects of the high school varsity program, including planning practices, developing game strategies, fostering sportsmanship, and mentoring student-athletes on and off the field.Key Responsibilities:Provide leadership and supervision for the varsity team during practices, games, and events.Design and implement practice plans that promote skill development, teamwork, and competitiveness.Foster a positive team culture that reflects the values of the Croton-Harmon School DistrictCommunicate effectively with student-athletes, families, school administration, and the athletic department.Monitor academic progress and support the overall well-being of student-athletes.Maintain equipment and manage team resources responsibly.Adhere to all school district, Section 1, and NYSPHSAA rules and regulations.Support and build relationships with local youth sports and community programs to develop a pipeline for future athletes.Qualifications:Prior coaching experience at the varsity level or equivalent preferred.In-depth knowledge of the sport, including rules, techniques, and strategies.Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.Valid NYS Coaching Certification or willingness to obtain all required coaching credentials, including:First Aid and CPR/AED CertificationDASA TrainingConcussion Management CertificationChild Abuse Identification & ReportingFingerprint ClearanceMust be committed to the academic and personal growth of student-athletesDesired Qualities:Passion for mentoring and empowering young athletes.Positive role model with integrity, professionalism, and respect for diversity.Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the program.
