About Crotched Mountain School:
Crotched Mountain School (CMS), a program of Seven Hills New Hampshire, hosts innovative special education, recreation, arts, music, and vocational programming for students, aged 5-21, who are on the autism spectrum, and/or have disabilities and other challenges that are better supported in an alternative, least-restrictive environment to their local public school system. Students have the option to live year-round in the appointed residences on the sprawling campus located in Greenfield, New Hampshire. Position Overview: As a Special Education Teacher, you'll be responsible for delivering engaging academic and life skills instruction tailored to individual student needs. You'll create a dynamic classroom environment, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
Key Responsibilities:
•Utilize effective teaching methodologies like Applied Behavior Analysis or Collaborative Problem Solving.
•Design and deliver customized lesson plans for individual and group learning.
•Maintain a safe and supportive classroom environment.
•Monitor student progress through assessments and detailed reporting.
•Work closely with other professionals and communicate with parents to support student development.
•Manage and support classroom staff and participate in ongoing professional development.
Qualifications:
•New Hampshire Special Education Teacher Certification required.
•Experience with students with disabilities and in assessment/report writing preferred.
•Strong commitment to professional growth and adhering to policies.
•Physical requirements may include (but are not limited to) bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, sitting/standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs.
