The Aviation Maintenance Controller (MX Controller) position supports the operational readiness and safety of the aircraft fleet, ensuring that all maintenance activities are carried out efficiently and effectively.
This role will report to the Howell (Livingston County Airport -KOZW) location but travel to the other 4 locations may be necessary (Waterford (KPTK), Belleville (KYIP), Flint (KFNT), Lansing (KLAN)) to support the team.
Aviation Maintenance Controller (MX Controller) Duties and Requirements:
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Tracking, Forecasting, and Scheduling Maintenance Actions:
• Manage both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities.
• Propose maintenance schedules based on aircraft needs and maintainer availability.
2. Software Management:
• Update and maintain the Flight Schedule Pro (scheduling software system) for accurate tracking and planning.
3. Quality Assurance:
• Review aircraft maintenance logbook entries for accuracy and compliance with FAA and industry standards.
4. Record Keeping:
• Maintain digital archival records of maintenance entries, 337 forms, logbooks, Airplane Flight Manuals (AFMs), and other relevant documents.
• Ensure aircraft Operating Handbooks, Supplements and Equipment Lists are up to date via regular audits.
5. Long-Term Planning:
• Plan for long-term maintenance activities, including engine swaps and major overhauls.
6. Parts Forecasting and Coordination:
• Forecast parts required for upcoming scheduled maintenance work orders.
• Coordinate with the Aircraft Readiness Coordinator to ensure parts availability.
7. Work Order Creation:
• Create detailed work orders (work packages) for all maintenance events.
Skills and Proficiencies:
Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
Personal Attributes:
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy.
• Able to remain calm under pressure and quickly resolve issues.
Compensation and Benefits:
• Pay Range:$25-30 per hour (based on experience and education).
