What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified or Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor position at Crossroads?
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and qualified Substance Abuse Counselor (Certified and/or Licensed) to join our team. This role is responsible for providing high-quality counseling services to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, supporting recovery, and promoting long-term wellness.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual for patients with substance use disorders
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans
- Conduct patient assessments, screenings, and psychosocial evaluations
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment approaches as needed
- Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on recovery, relapse prevention, and coping skills
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (medical staff, case management, etc.)
- Educate patients and families on addiction, treatment options, and recovery resources
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational policies
Qualifications
Required
- Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, CAC, or equivalent) and/or Licensed Counselor (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, etc.)
- Knowledge of substance use disorders, recovery models, and counseling techniques
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work early hours and on a Saturday rotation
Preferred
- Experience working in outpatient or inpatient behavioral health settings
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT)
