Before and After School Coordinator

Pay starts at $17.00 per hour and up based on experience

In this role, you’ll oversee impactful Before & After School and Camp programs focused on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Before and After School Coordinator is responsible for the effective operation of before and after school care and camp programs. Responsibility may include but are not limited to: program operation, program development and growth, participant satisfaction, participant and member retention and safety, community collaborations, and staff supervision. The Before and After School Coordinator is accountable for delivering exceptional and outstanding programs and service to YMCA members and participants in partnership with a larger team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Perform office work as needed such as filing, copying, record keeping, and payroll completion. Ensure that all necessary paperwork and forms are accurately completed.
2. Manage, maintain and report all state required records, CCDF, CACFP, and other 3rd parties.
3. Lead activities and behavioral management.
4. Support the Director in training and supervising assigned program staff and volunteers and ensure consistent delivery of programming and procedures.
5. Provide a nurturing atmosphere and safety for all participants.
6. Maintain appropriate teacher to student ratios during programming.
7. Monitor purchase and maintain necessary equipment through scheduled and preventative maintenance.
8. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with parents and respond to all inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
9. Adheres to the organizations policies and procedures.
10. Provides shift supervision while working 80% of time as direct service.
11. Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, development of team members.
12. Conducts team member feedback, corrective actions, and evaluations.
13. Schedules and processes payroll functions.
14. Supports campaign efforts and donor engagement in the community and team members.
15. Models relationship building in all interactions through Listen First.
16. Performs other duties as assigned.

TECHNICAL FUNCTIONS:

• Lead and implement curriculum within the established guidelines for Before and After school care and camp programming.
• Support, supervise and participate in program activities related to Before and After school care and camp.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum 2 years related experience working with children of diverse ages and cultures.
2. Certifications required within 30 days of hire: CPR/AED & First Aid and New Employee Orientation.
3. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
4. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
5. Able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Organized and detail oriented.
6. Adept computer skills in Office 365.
7. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
