Position Summary
Crossroads Utility Services, LLC is seeking a qualified Field Service Representative (FSR) who provides hands-on assistance in utility maintenance and who enjoy steady work with overtime pay as required. These candidates are self-motivated and dedicated to supporting a team environment. Under general supervision, the Field Service Representative (FSR) position provides support for all maintenance and repair of water distribution and wastewater collection within multiple MUD’s.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains cleanliness of service truck, dump truck, excavator, trailer, parts and tools;
- Maintain adequate supply of parts and tools at beginning and end of shift;
- Daily check of all vehicles: fuel, tires, lightening operations, and fluids at beginning and end of shift.
- Trains and or assist other staff members;
- Assist foreman as needed;
- Complete other duties as assigned by Crossroads management.
- Regularly lifting and carrying heavy objects safely, potentially exceeding 50-80 pounds;
- Extended periods of standing, walking, climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and navigating uneven terrain;
- Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized;
- Frequent bending, kneeling, and stooping to access underground utilities or perform repairs;
- Pushing and pulling heavy equipment or materials during excavation and installation processes;
- Precise hand movements to operate tools and equipment like shovels, wrenches, and power drills;
- Working in all weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow;
- May need to work in tight spaces like trenches or underground utility tunnels;
- Potential exposure to loud noise from machinery;
- May come into contact with potentially hazardous materials like chemicals or gas depending on the utility system;
- Wearing appropriate safety gear including hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and high-visibility clothing is essential;
- Maintaining an adequate level of physical fitness is crucial to perform the job effectively.
Qualifications/Licensure/Education Requirements
- A valid driver's license and reliable transportation;
- Experience in construction is desirable;
- Ability to operate various construction tools and equipment;
- Willing to work all shifts including: weekends, holidays, evenings and On-Call;
- Water Distribution - Possession of, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment, Water Distribution “D” license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ);
- Wastewater Collection - Possession of, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment, Wastewater Collection I license issued by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ;
- Safety - Possession of, or the ability to obtain within one (1) year of employment,
- Work Zone Traffic Control, issued by a qualifying institution
- Flaggers in Work Zone, issued by issued by a qualifying institution
- OSHA 10
- The ability to handle tasks as assigned by a supervisor
- The ability to complete all other duties, as assigned
- High School diploma or GED
- This position does hold a 6-month probationary period.
- Class A CDL License is required
Physical Demand
- Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.
- Substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers in a repetitive manner.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to handle items and operate tools.
- The position requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing, and depth perception.
- This position requires occasional heavy physical exertion, including the ability to lift over 50 pounds and exert over 80 pounds of force periodically.
Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme heat and/or cold, wet or humid conditions, bright and/or dim light, dust or pollen, intense noise levels, vibration, fumes or noxious odors.
Work Hours/Schedule
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $28.00 per hour
