SUMMARY:
The Nurse Supervisor for the Circle Program provides clinical leadership and oversight for nursing services supporting individuals experiencing substance use disorders, alcohol dependence, and co-occurring mental health conditions. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed, evidence-based care, supervises nursing staff, and coordinates with interdisciplinary treatment teams. The Nurse Supervisor promotes a safe, therapeutic environment that supports recovery, stabilization, and long-term wellness.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and LPTs.
Ensure nursing care follows evidence-based practices for addiction treatment, withdrawal management, and psychiatric care.
Provide clinical guidance on complex cases involving co‑occurring psychiatric and substance use conditions.
Oversee medication administration, detox protocols (if applicable), and monitoring of withdrawal symptoms
Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health providers, case managers, and peer support staff to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Ensure safe management protocols.
Provide direct supervision, mentoring, and performance evaluation of nursing staff.
Coordinate staffing schedules to ensure adequate coverage and continuity of care.
Provide clinical guidance and support during crisis situations or complex patient cases.
Promote professional development and ongoing training related to substance use disorders, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case reviews, and treatment planning.
Assist in developing program policies and procedures related to nursing services.
Monitor compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations and standards.
Support quality improvement initiatives and data tracking related to patient outcomes and safety.
Ensure patient safety through proper assessment, monitoring, and documentation.
Support harm reduction, relapse prevention, and recovery-oriented approaches.
Provide patient and family education related to substance use disorders, medications, and recovery resources.
Respond to medical or behavioral emergencies within the program.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Ensure nursing documentation meets regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
Assist with audits, incident reviews, and quality assurance processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist the director with overall supervision of the unit.
Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
RN license with the state of Colorado and in good standing.
Experience:
Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience in behavioral health, addiction treatment, or co‑occurring settings.
Other:
Familiarity with trauma-informed care and harm-reduction approaches.
Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary behavioral health teams.
Able to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Communicate with clarity and effectiveness in both verbal and written forms.
Basic computer skills are needed to communicate via email and in written reports.
