Position Overview
The Bartender at Crossroads Social House plays an important role in creating a fun, friendly, and welcoming experience for our guests. This position is responsible for preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized bar, and working closely with the restaurant and entertainment teams to keep service running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner while providing excellent customer service.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages accurately and efficiently.
- Take food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system.
- Verify identification and follow all Virginia ABC laws and company alcohol-service policies.
- Monitor guests for responsible alcohol consumption and communicate concerns to management when necessary.
- Handle cash, credit card payments, tabs, and guest transactions accurately.
- Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized bar throughout each shift.
- Restock beer, liquor, mixers, garnishes, glassware, and other bar supplies as needed.
- Complete opening and closing duties, including cleaning and properly securing the bar area.
- Work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and other team members to provide fast and accurate service.
- Assist with parties, special events, and busy entertainment periods as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of current drink offerings, specials, menu items, and promotions.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
- Support additional tasks as needed to help the entire Crossroads team operate successfully.
Qualifications
- Friendly, outgoing personality with strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy, fast-paced environment.
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work well as part of a team.
- Basic math, cash-handling, and POS system skills.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and perform typical bartending duties, including lifting and stocking supplies.
- Must meet all age and legal requirements for serving alcohol in Virginia.
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Previous bartending, restaurant, or hospitality experience preferred.
