This is a hybrid role and candidates must live within the Greater Cleveland area. Those out of state or not within driving distance to Mentor, Ohio 2-3 days per week will not be considered.

We are currently seeking an experienced leader for the position of Director of Development. The Director of Development is a senior leadership role responsible for advancing the mission and long-term sustainability of Crossroads Health. This position provides strategic oversight and hands-on leadership for all fundraising, grant development, and donor engagement efforts, while also supervising the organization’s marketing and communications functions to ensure a consistent, compelling message aligned with our mission. Working collaboratively with the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leadership team, the Director of Development plays a critical role in securing diverse revenue streams, strengthening community partnerships, and increasing the organization’s visibility and impact.

More specifically, this position is responsible for:

  • Supervision of marketing and communications efforts with oversight of organization-wide adherence to brand identity; oversee all external PR efforts, including website, social media, press releases, advertising, publications and internal newsletters developed to increase positive awareness of the organization; primary development spokesperson for the organization.
  • Supervision of grants management and oversight; participates in planning and implementation of annual campaigns, including annual appeals, events, planned giving, major gifts and grants targeting a variety of external sources such as donors, individuals, corporations, foundations and local/state/federal agencies; strategic direction of donor cultivation and solicitation.
  • Oversees the mar/com and fundraising operations of the Development area including achievement of annual departmental goals and objectives, reporting to CEO, in cooperation with senior leadership, board and board committees; assists VP of Finance via consultation on funding matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting need and the securing of new funding.
  • Supervision and management of workforce and contractors in the Development department across multiple locations, including staff and volunteers.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the donor database system, ensuring it is updated and accurate regarding donor information, gift acknowledgement and donor contact reports.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field/ Master's Degree preferred
  • Minimum five (5) years of senior leadership in a nonprofit organization
  • Demonstrated history of successful advancement, foundation relations and donor cultivation and successful solicitation of major gifts
  • CFRE or ACFRE certification (preferred)
  • Valid Drivers License/ Must have an acceptable driving record (4 points or less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property
