Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced PMHNP to provide advanced medical care to adult patients admitted for detoxification and/or acute mental health stabilization. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting patients through some of their most vulnerable moments by delivering high-quality, evidence-based medical care in a collaborative treatment environment.
The PMHNP is responsible for conducting comprehensive medical assessments, monitoring withdrawal symptoms, prescribing and managing medications, and working closely with an interdisciplinary team to address co-occurring medical, psychiatric, and substance use disorders. This position is ideal for a provider who is clinically strong, patient-centered, and passionate about integrated behavioral health care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments upon admission.
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for patients undergoing detoxification and mental health stabilization.
- Prescribe and monitor medications, including those used for withdrawal management and psychiatric stabilization.
- Evaluate patient progress, adjust treatment as necessary, and ensure safe detox protocols.
- Provide patient education related to diagnosis, medications, and ongoing care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and behavioral health staff to coordinate multidisciplinary treatment.
- Participate in daily clinical meetings and contribute to individualized care plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention and participate in medical or psychiatric emergencies as needed.
- Support compliance with Joint Commission standards and Indiana state regulations.
Skills
- Requirements:
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
- Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification.
- Active and unencumbered Indiana Nurse Practitioner license.
- Current DEA license with prescriptive authority in Indiana.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner in medical, psychiatric, or substance use disorder settings preferred.
- Experience in detoxification or behavioral health treatment strongly preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
