Physicians Associate

Position Title: Physician Associate (PA)

Department: Medical Services

Reports To: Medical Director or Chief Clinical Officer

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary:

The Physician Associate (PA) provides high-quality, patient-centered medical care under the supervision of a licensed physician. This role evaluates, diagnoses, and treats patients across the lifespan while promoting health maintenance, disease prevention, and evidence-based treatment. The PA works collaboratively with the care team to support efficient clinic operations and positive patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, and medical histories.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging.
• Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans in accordance with state and federal regulations.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
• Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and comply with clinic policies and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate program.
• Current NCCPA certification.
• Active, unrestricted PA license in the State of Texas.
• Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
• BLS certification (ACLS preferred).
• Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred.
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

• Outpatient clinical setting.
• Monday–Friday schedule with occasional extended hours as needed.
