Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and medication management.
- Support individuals in developing life skills and achieving personal goals through tailored programs.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents, ensuring hygiene standards are met.
- Advocate for the rights of residents, ensuring they are treated with dignity and respect at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Document daily activities and progress notes accurately to track client development.
- Lift and assist clients as needed to ensure their mobility and comfort.
- Engage clients in recreational activities that promote social interaction and community involvement.
- Helping with daily living skills like cooking/ cleaning/ toileting/ showering, etc.
Skills
- Experience working with people with disabilities is preferred; familiarity with developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Knowledge of patient care practices within long-term care settings is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of resident rights and advocacy principles.
- Ability to maintain a clean environment while adhering to health standards.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members.
