FACILITIES ASSISTANT // CROSSROADS CHURCH
The Facilities Assistant provides onsite-facility support during high-traffic ministry hours (especially Sundays) to ensure a safe, clean, and fully functional environment. This role performs hands-on maintenance, setup/takedown, and grounds care while supporting volunteer teams and assisting with daily facility readiness.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Weekend & Event Support
- Open and prepare Woodbury campus for Sunday services and some ministry events.
- Conduct pre-service building checks (HVAC, lights, restrooms, supplies).
- Maintains the cleanliness of the facility during services.
- Respond promptly to facility issues or emergencies during services.
- Support ministry teams and volunteers with setup and teardown.
Maintenance & Grounds Care
- Perform small repairs and facility upkeep tasks (light bulbs, filters, basic maintenance).
- Assist with landscaping and grounds beautification projects.
- Maintain safe sidewalks and entryways, especially during winter weather.
Volunteer Leadership
- Partner with Facilities Coordinator to lead and support volunteer maintenance teams.
- Provide hands-on supervision during volunteer workdays or special projects.
Administrative & Coordination Support
- Log maintenance needs and completed tasks
- Communicate any facility concerns observed during weekend or evening use.
- Participate in brief weekly coordination meeting with Facilities Coordinator and Campus Operations Manager.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPECTATIONS
Education: Minimum of High School diploma is required.
Qualifications
- One or more years of facility experience.
- Practical knowledge of general building systems and maintenance tools.
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a team setting.
- High-level organization skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication with staff and vendors.
Environment
- Work is accomplished about 80% indoors and 20% outdoors.
- Normal working schedule is Monday through Friday but flexible scheduling periodically to work occasional nights and weekends and on call for off hour issues.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

Status: Part-time (15 hours per week)
