This role involves collaborating with creative and technical teams to ensure that video content is correctly formatted and delivered for live events, virtual productions, and immersive experiences. The Producer will facilitate the development and management of Requests for Proposals for design and content production when external resources are required, as well as create and manage content budgets.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
Concept Design Facilitation:
- Develop and issue Requests for Proposals for external design, animation, or content production vendors.
- Evaluate vendor submissions, ensuring proposals align with creative and technical requirements.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to select appropriate vendors.
- Manage communication between external partners and internal teams to ensure timely delivery of assets.
- Provide feedback and ensure final designs meet production goals and brand standards.
- Develop, manage, and track content production budgets, ensuring projects remain within financial parameters.
- Provide budget estimates for content development and media production.
- Collaborate with finance teams to manage payments, contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Identify and address budget overruns and recommend cost-effective solutions.
- Manage the ingestion and delivery of media assets to Disguise servers.
- Ensure all video content meets resolution, aspect ratio, frame rate, and codec specifications.
- Collaborate with designers, animators, and VFX teams to ensure content is aligned with the creative vision.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure content integrity and playback reliability.
- Work closely with the Media Server Operator to create and refine media cues and timelines.
- Assist in building media server show files and sequences within Disguise.
- Provide technical oversight for content playback, transitions, and effects.
- Collaborate with lighting, video, and automation teams to ensure visual synchronization.
- Use Disguise’s pre-visualization tools to simulate and review content.
- Facilitate the integration of real-time media from Notch and Unreal Engine with the development teams to ensure smooth operation.
- Troubleshoot content playback issues in collaboration with the Media Server Operator.
- Provide on-site support during rehearsals and performances to ensure flawless content playback.
- Adjust and modify content as needed to accommodate last-minute changes.
- Communicate effectively with technical directors, producers, and other stakeholders to resolve issues.
- Collaborate with the Media Server Operator to resolve issues related to media playback, synchronization, and server performance.
- Use OSC and DMX for media server control and lighting desk integration.
- Maintain backups of all media content, show files, and system configurations.
- Maintain detailed documentation of content specifications, cue lists, and playback instructions.
- Provide reports on content status and deliverables to production management.
- Document issues encountered during production for future reference.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in content production for live events, broadcast, or virtual production.
- Strong knowledge of Disguise media servers and software.
- Proficiency with video formats, codecs, and compression techniques.
- Experience working with real-time content from Notch, Unreal Engine, or other real-time engines.
- Understanding of video projection mapping and LED wall technology.
- Familiarity with OSC and lighting desk integration for synchronized playback.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to perform under pressure.
- Experience in facilitating and managing RFPs for creative production.
- Experience in developing and managing content budgets.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Experience in XR or virtual production environments.
- Certification in Disguise Designer or other media server platforms.
- Working knowledge of camera tracking systems and virtual production pipelines.
- Background in video engineering or media production management.
- Familiarity with media server automation and cue-based programming.
- Experience collaborating with large-scale production teams in high-pressure environments.
- Performs effectively under pressure, and against strict time constraints.
- Must be able to walk up to 5 miles, standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, and stooping as duties required.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Regular schedule depends on the needs and availability of events and weekend experiences.
- Generally Sunday through Thursday, with varying hours dependent on rehearsals and shows.
