The Building Operations Support Leader is a developmental role designed to prepare individuals for advancement into a Building Operations Manager position at a Crossroads Property. Under the guidance of experienced operations professionals, the BOSL will learn to oversee the maintenance, safety, and functionality of Crossroads building assets and operations systems. They will coordinate, collaborate, and execute with and alongside other Crossroads’ sites’ Building Operations Teams in the planning and execution of both preventative and unscheduled maintenance needs.

Job Summary
The Building Operations Support Leader is a developmental role designed to prepare individuals for advancement into a Building Operations Manager position at a Crossroads Property. Under the guidance of experienced operations professionals, the BOSL will learn to oversee the maintenance, safety, and functionality of Crossroads building assets and operations systems. They will coordinate, collaborate, and execute with and alongside other Crossroads’ sites’ Building Operations Teams in the planning and execution of both preventative and unscheduled maintenance needs.
Principal Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing maintenance and repair activities for the facility and equipment at centrally managed Crossroads properties.
- Participate in a structured training program focused on HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, fire safety, access control, and energy management.
- Shadow senior operations staff to learn daily procedures and protocols.
- Attend internal and external technical training sessions.
- Assist in conducting building inspections and identifying areas requiring repair or improvement.
- Support the scheduling and monitoring of preventive maintenance activities
- Aid in resolving tenant requests and service issues promptly and professionally.
- Host and provide guidance to vendors during site visits to ensure efficient and financially effective building operations.
- Preparing and monitoring building operations budgets under the supervision of the Building Operations Central Staff.
- Effectively coordinate, prioritize and manage pending work orders and schedules and all building use in maintaining efficient workflow.
- Conducting regular building inspections and preparing reports to the Building Operations Team.
- Ensuring facilities are in compliance with applicable policies, regulations and building codes.
- Responding to inquiries and requests by event staff and building tenants and resolving any problems or issues timely.
- Responsible for ensuring the safety and security of building tenants.
- Recruit, train, and develop volunteer teams that include but are not limited to routine maintenance, site projects, mowing, etc.
- Responsible for identifying the needs and understanding, executing and leading building safety protocols and remaining in constant communication with the national security team regarding protocol changes.
- Provide operational counsel to site ministry teams to best equip staff and volunteers in the execution of events.
- Perform other related ad hoc projects as required.
- Protects all entities (including Crossroads’) value by keeping information confidential.
- Work in close association with the entire staff to build and maintain a strong team environment among our staff and complete the work necessary to fully serve and support the vision and mission of the entities including Crossroads.
- Attend regular ministry team meetings, all-staff meetings and participate in additional meetings when requested to do so.
- Perform other duties as requested by manager and leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in building or construction related field is preferred, or at least 3 years of experience as a facility/building manager or in a similar role.
- Building Owners and Managers Association certification preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations and building codes.
- Excellent project management and negotiation skills
- Able to work with a minimum of supervision while understanding the necessity for communication and coordinating work efforts with other staff and organizations.
- Possesses strong organizational, communication, and decision making skills.
- Advanced communication skills - quick to respond, distribute and follow up on high priority operational items.

- The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally the job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing.
- Ability to lift 50-lbs and move general event items (bike racks, stanchions, stage decks).
- Ability to work long irregular hours on your feet for an extended period of time as dictated by events and schedule, this will include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Travel between properties will be required.
