Job Summary
Crossroads Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled, compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our dedicated veterinary team. This position is ideal for a motivated technician who enjoys hands-on patient care, values teamwork, and is excited to work in both day practice and emergency (ER) settings.
Clinical & Technical Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality nursing care to hospitalized and outpatient patients
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, anesthesia, and procedures
- Monitor anesthesia and safely recover patients
- Perform dental procedures, including dental cleanings, radiographs, and extractions
- Perform venipuncture, catheter placement, lab testing, radiographs, and treatments
- Accurately document medical records and patient care
- Support both routine appointments and emergency cases
Client Communication:
- Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, and post-care instructions
- Communicate compassionately during routine visits and emergencies
- Assist with discharge instructions and follow-up care
Schedule & Hours:
- Full-time position
- Day practice shifts: Monday - Friday 8:00am - 6:00pm and Saturdays 8:00am - 4:00pm
- ER shifts: Evenings, nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
- Schedule will include a mix of day practice and ER shifts
- Flexibility and reliability are essential
What We Are Looking For
- Current Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or license-eligible
- Strong technical and clinical skills
- Ability to remain calm in fast-paced, high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Emergency experience preferred but not required
