Motor Coach Maintenance Director

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Maintenance Director to lead and oversee the maintenance operations of our fleet of motor coaches. In this pivotal role, you will develop a team of technicians , and a maintenance schedule ensuring all vehicles and facilities meet safety, quality, and operational standards. Your expertise in mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, and industrial maintenance will drive efficiency and reliability across our fleet. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in vehicle maintenance and facilities management, ensuring our fleet remains safe, dependable, and compliant with all safety regulations.

We carry people, passengers in our motor coaches. The desired candidate must be a people person and work well with everyone involved with the company, especially our drivers.

Our shop has been old school for 30 years and needs to make the changes to new technologies and record keeping. Basic maintenance has not changed. Vehicles still need lubed, oil changes, brakes and upkeep. Diagnostics for mechanical issues still takes attention and patience. Diagnostics for software issues, sensors and aftertreatment continue to evolve so the right candidate must be willing to learn and like to finish what they start.

Responsibilities

• Hire, develop and supervise the maintenance team responsible for motor coach repairs, preventive maintenance, and facilities upkeep
• Develop and implement maintenance repair procedures aligned with safety regulations and industry best practices
• Oversee the management of mechanical systems repair, electrical systems troubleshooting, HVAC system repair, shop system maintenance, and other facilities-related tasks
• Utilize CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to schedule work orders, track maintenance activities, and manage inventory
• Ensure compliance with FMCSA safety standards by conducting regular safety audits and training sessions for staff
• Manage projects related to facilities maintenance management.
• Work with Volvo and Prevost and MCI Technical support relating to the fleet and attend technical training seminars which will require travel.
• Coordinate with external parts vendors for parts needed for proper maintenance.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, safety inspections, and equipment repairs to support continuous improvement efforts
• Foster a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous learning within the facilities maintenance team.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical knowledge including HVAC systems, suspension systems, electrical systems , and industrial maintenance procedures
• Hands-on experience with CMMS software for managing work orders and inventory control
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations related to facilities management and vehicle maintenance environments
• Demonstrated project management skills in coordinating large-scale maintenance or repair projects within transportation settings
• Technical proficiency in schematics interpretation, engineering troubleshooting techniques, and the use of diagnostic tools such Tech tool and Insite
• Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation, reporting, and team coordination

Pay: $28.00 - $36.00 per hour

Experience:

• laptop ECM diagnostics: 2 years (Required)
• fleet maintenance Level 3: 2 years (Required)
