Youth Mentor, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Lowell, MA Full Time
POSTED ON 8/18/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/9/2026
  • On-site in Springfield, MA (relocation assistance available)
  • $100,000 annual salary, paid each week. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins day one

Do you see a student reach 99% and feel compelled to push them to finish? The greatest support you can offer a child who has achieved 99% of their objective is to insist they complete it. If that expectation feels unreasonable, this position won't be the right fit. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates your confidence in their ability to succeed, read on.

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full academic day in approximately two hours using adaptive technology. No traditional lectures. No printed textbooks. Your responsibility is what software cannot accomplish: developing Pre-K through 8th grade students' life competencies including public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange. You'll spend half your time facilitating hands-on workshops guided by structured frameworks and narrative techniques. The remaining time is dedicated to individual and small-group sessions where you analyze student performance in adaptive platforms via Coachbot analytics and drive them toward achieving 100% of their weekly objectives. Mastery is demonstrated through Test2Pass evaluations, not attendance-based grading.

This is competitive work. Your first year centers on mastering the system: workshop delivery, motivational coaching, mastery verification, and consistently holding all students to 100% goal completion. Excel in this and advancement to Lead Guide becomes accessible. You must combine genuine warmth with unwavering standards. Apply today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback skills, adjusting your delivery and energy for Pre-K–8 developmental ranges
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions to examine each student's adaptive learning progress (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% weekly goal completion
  • Administering and scoring Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than simple participation
  • Implementing focused interventions when students lag academically or in engagement — identifying underlying issues and creating recovery strategies
  • Developing authentic connections with every student so they trust your guidance through moments of resistance, distraction, and uncertainty

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Providing traditional lectures or academic subject instruction (core content is delivered through adaptive platforms, not by you)
  • Creating original lesson plans or curriculum materials (Alpha supplies structured life skills playbooks; your role is executing them with enthusiasm and storytelling)
  • Handling parent communications or administrative tasks (Campus Leads manage those areas; you concentrate on student development)
  • Assigning or grading homework or preparing students for standardized tests (those elements don't exist in this model)
  • Operating independently (you're integrated into a campus team with Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)

Youth Mentor Key Responsibilities

Guarantee that every student in your group finds joy in school, develops critical life competencies, and achieves 100% of their academic targets through adaptive learning technology.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • 3 years of direct experience with Pre-K–8 students (instruction, coaching, counseling, or youth program management).
  • Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, athletic, or extracurricular objectives, including at least one concrete example you can articulate (the objective, your actions, and the result).
  • Comfort with a coaching-focused approach where academic content delivery is entirely platform-based. Your function is motivation and guidance, not core subject instruction.
  • Regular use of generative AI applications (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude).
  • Availability to work on-site at Alpha's Springfield, MA campus (relocation assistance provided).
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, residential camp leadership, or after-school programming where you held direct responsibility for driving children toward measurable goals.
  • History of notable personal accomplishment (academic distinction, competitive sports, or leadership positions requiring consistent excellence).
  • Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain Pre-K–8 students' focus for an hour without increasing volume.
  • Success connecting with disengaged or reluctant students and transforming them into engaged learners.
  • Experience supporting students who receive special education services.
