Alpha students complete their academic learning in two hours daily via self-directed AI-enabled applications. No traditional teachers. No lectures. No content-focused classroom instruction. This structure allows you to focus on the work that fundamentally shifts student outcomes: facilitating high-impact workshops covering public speaking, concentration, and feedback; driving students toward complete goal attainment using live analytics; and developing the Guides on your team.

A typical morning may involve a coaching conversation with a Guide, analyzing performance metrics and pinpointing cohort gaps. Mid-morning, you're facilitating a student workshop, executing a structured activity on feedback exchange. Afternoons transition to individual motivation work: engaging with specific students, identifying their intrinsic drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a hesitant middle schooler. You maintain direct responsibility for your own cohort, ensuring you continuously refine the capabilities you're cultivating in others.

What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating structured one-hour life skills workshops (public speaking, focus, feedback exchange) for elementary and middle school cohorts (K-8), adhering to Alpha's established playbook rather than creating original content
• Conducting motivation interventions using live student data and Alpha's incentive architecture (campus currency, performance leaderboards) to achieve 100% goal attainment across your cohort
• Developing Guides through coaching focused on program consistency and standards adherence, with each session yielding concrete improvement steps
• Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously building Guide capacity
• Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide effectiveness indicators on a weekly cadence to identify performance gaps before they escalate
  
  

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Teaching or tutoring academic content to students. Academic learning happens through self-paced applications without direct adult instruction.
• Creating curriculum or developing original lesson plans. The playbook is established; success is measured by execution fidelity, not creativity.
• Coaching Guides on instructional pedagogy. Since Guides don't deliver academic instruction, your coaching centers on energy management, motivation tactics, and accountability enforcement.
• Accepting 99% performance as sufficient when the standard is 100%. Maintaining rigorous expectations demonstrates your belief in student capability.
• Serving as the campus empathy default. Students receive genuine connection alongside honest feedback and meaningful accountability.
  
  

Youth Development Manager Key Responsibilities

Fulfill Alpha's three core commitments for every student in your cohort: genuine enthusiasm for school, academic progress at twice the traditional pace, and measurable life skills development.

Basic Requirements

• Available for on-campus work at one of these Alpha locations: Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX; Park City (Salt Lake City), UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation support available)
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline
• 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or comparable domains
• Demonstrated leadership of a team consisting of 5 or more adults, including responsibility for hiring and performance-based termination decisions
• Hands-on experience working with children ages 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts
• History of building, launching, or substantially scaling a program, team, business, school, or initiative from inception
• Documented use of data and metrics to establish weekly objectives and inform decisions, beyond simple reporting
• Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada
  
  

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline
• Experience coaching athletics, leading outdoor or experiential education programs, managing camps, or directing youth ministry at sufficient scale to require cohort management and outcome measurement
• Transitioned from classroom teaching to program leadership roles in adjacent sectors: EdTech ventures, tutoring organizations, youth-focused nonprofits, or school intervention programs
• History of exceptional individual performance — academically, athletically, or professionally — during early career before transitioning to leadership
• Conviction that current educational structures are fundamentally inadequate and personal commitment to systemic transformation

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $75 USD/hour, which equates to $150,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
