The kindest thing you can do for a child who achieved 99% is tell them they fell short. If that statement makes you uncomfortable, this role isn't for you. If it resonates, read on.

Alpha students complete their academic learning in two hours daily using AI-powered self-directed applications. No instructors. No traditional lessons. No content-focused classroom management. This structure allows you to focus on work that genuinely shifts student outcomes: facilitating dynamic workshops on public speaking, concentration, and feedback; driving students toward complete goal attainment through live analytics; and developing the Guides who support your work.

A typical morning may begin with individual Guide coaching, analyzing performance metrics and pinpointing where a student group is underperforming. Midday brings live student workshops where you execute structured activities on feedback exchange. Afternoon hours pivot to motivational work: engaging individual students, discovering their drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a reluctant middle schooler. You maintain direct responsibility for your own cohort, ensuring you continue refining the capabilities you're developing in others.

You've likely been the outlier in educational environments: excessively metric-oriented, overly outcome-focused, too ready to question conventional approaches with children. Alpha may be your first genuine fit. You'll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you produce scalable results, your authority over campus-wide program standards expands.

Uphold the standard. Transform the student. Submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour live life skills workshops (public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange) for K-8 student groups, executing Alpha's structured playbook rather than creating content independently
  • Conducting motivational sessions leveraging student data and Alpha's reward mechanisms (campus currency, performance rankings) to achieve 100% student goal attainment
  • Developing Guides in program adherence and standards maintenance, ensuring each coaching interaction yields concrete improvement steps
  • Managing your own student cohort while simultaneously developing other Guides
  • Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide performance indicators weekly to identify declining performance early

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lectures or providing academic tutoring. Students complete academic work through self-directed applications without adult supervision in the learning space.
  • Creating curriculum materials or developing original lesson frameworks. Structured playbooks exist; success requires precise execution, not innovation.
  • Developing Guides in instructional methodology. Since Guides don't deliver instruction, you'll focus on coaching enthusiasm, motivation, and accountability practices.
  • Accepting 99% when the standard is 100%. Maintaining expectations demonstrates your confidence in student capability.
  • Serving as the campus empathy reservoir. Students receive genuine connection alongside honest feedback and meaningful consequences.

Youth Development Manager Key Responsibilities

Execute Alpha's three core commitments for every student in your cohort: cultivating enthusiasm for school, accelerating learning to twice traditional classroom velocity, and building authentic life competencies.

Basic Requirements

  • Available for on-campus work in Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX; Park City (Salt Lake City), UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or related discipline
  • 5 years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or comparable domain
  • Demonstrated history of managing a team of 5 or more adults, including recruitment and performance-based separation decisions
  • Hands-on experience working with children aged 5-14 in educational or developmental contexts
  • Created, implemented, or substantially scaled a program, team, enterprise, school, or initiative from inception
  • Documented practice of using data and metrics to establish weekly objectives and inform decisions, beyond simple reporting
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States or Canada

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline
  • Experience coaching sports, facilitating outdoor or experiential programs, managing camps, or leading youth ministry at a scale requiring cohort management and outcome measurement
  • Transitioned from classroom instruction to program development or management roles in different capacities: EdTech companies, tutoring enterprises, youth-focused nonprofits, or school support teams
  • Early-career evidence of exceptional individual achievement — academic, athletic, or professional — prior to leadership roles
  • Conviction that existing educational systems are failing and personal commitment to reconstructing them
