VP of Facilities Development, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD

Crossover
Houston, TX Remote Full Time
POSTED ON 8/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/26/2026
Opening one school is straightforward. Opening many—consistently, predictably, and with improving speed—is rare.

2 Hour Learning is constructing a nationwide school network engineered to deliver a full day's instruction in two concentrated hours through AI. The model's success depends on expansion being as methodical as the educational product. This role is designed to ensure that outcome. You will manage the complete lifecycle of new school sites—from initial location through fully functioning campus—while establishing systems that enable each launch to be faster, more streamlined, and increasingly reliable.

This is not a conventional development position. Your objective is not simply to administer projects. Your objective is to remove barriers from the expansion process. This requires decisive judgment on site suitability, direct engagement with permitting and construction challenges, vendor negotiations, and aggressive timeline management. Concurrently, you will systematize each component of the process into structured, AI-enabled workflows that minimize manual intervention and enhance forecasting precision progressively.

If you have directed actual construction projects and are dissatisfied with protracted schedules, dispersed accountability, and recurring errors, this is your opportunity to solve those issues—at scale.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Execute critical site evaluations by assessing zoning requirements, permitting pathways, cost implications, and timeline feasibility through structured and AI-supported analysis
  • Manage multiple school construction projects concurrently, directing construction managers, clearing obstacles, and delivering on-time, on-budget completions
  • Create actionable capital project proposals that achieve stakeholder alignment on scope, budget, and implementation approach
  • Direct vendor identification, RFP processes, and contract negotiations prioritizing velocity, quality, and financial discipline
  • Break down expansion processes into discrete operational units and construct AI-powered systems that reduce cycle time and increase outcome predictability

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Functioning as a passive coordinator waiting for status reports from contractors or external partners
  • Focusing narrowly on a single phase (e.g., site selection or construction alone) without accountability for the complete result
  • Depending on improvised, unstructured approaches that require reinvention for each new site
  • Passing problems upward without personally intervening to address permitting, design, or construction obstacles
  • Consuming extended periods achieving stakeholder consensus without forcing a clear resolution

VP Of Facilities Development Key Responsibilities

  • Proven capacity to evaluate tradeoffs involving cost, schedule, and feasibility with clear, quantifiable results
  • Experience refining or organizing complex operational processes (e.g., permitting sequences, design coordination, construction delivery)
  • Proven ability to decompose intricate workflows into structured, replicable systems and enhance them iteratively
  • Track record of leveraging tools (AI or alternative technologies) to minimize manual tasks, expedite decisions, or improve execution velocity
  • Strong ownership orientation with capacity to perform effectively in uncertain environments and produce tangible outcomes
