Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's worth of academics in approximately two hours using adaptive software. No traditional lectures. No printed textbooks. Your role covers what technology cannot: developing life skills in children such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll facilitate interactive workshops, drive students toward their learning targets, and establish relationships that transform a reserved fourth grader into someone who presents with confidence before adult audiences.
This position grows over time. During your first year, you'll guide a small student cohort and internalize Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivational coaching sessions, mastery-based evaluations. Once you demonstrate the ability to hold every student accountable to 100% goal completion while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible—a role where you mentor a team while remaining directly engaged with students. Top performers don't merely impact individual students; they influence how an entire campus functions.

What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life skill workshops for K-12 students covering topics such as public speaking, concentration, time management, and constructive feedback (interactive and project-driven, never lecture-based)
- Conducting daily motivational sessions where you engage individual students, assess their adaptive learning app progress (via Coachbot analytics), and drive them toward 100% weekly goal attainment
- Organizing and executing mastery-based assessments (Test2Pass) to validate that students have genuinely mastered each skill rather than simply participated
- Cultivating authentic relationships with each student so they trust you sufficiently to receive coaching through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty
- Monitoring student performance against satisfaction metrics and goal completion rates, modifying your methods when outcomes don't meet expectations
- Leading classroom lectures or providing traditional academic instruction (students master core subjects through self-directed adaptive applications, not through your teaching)
- Creating lesson plans independently (Alpha supplies a life skills curriculum and structured playbooks; your responsibility is to animate them with enthusiasm and narrative)
- Handling parent communications or school administrative tasks (Campus Leads manage these areas; you remain concentrated on student development)
- Evaluating homework assignments or coordinating standardized test preparation (these elements don't exist in this environment)
- Operating independently (you're integrated into a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)

Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities)
- Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus located in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City, UT (relocation assistance provided)
- Availability to participate in a paid training program at Alpha's Austin, TX campus
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
- Background in youth development: athletic coaching, camp leadership, or youth program roles where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward specific objectives
- Demonstrated history of personal high achievement (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions requiring sustained excellence)
- Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain the attention of a room filled with 12-year-olds for an hour without increasing your volume
- Experience motivating disengaged or reluctant students and converting them into active, engaged participants

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $50 USD/hour, which equates to $100,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
