Structured Literacy Teacher, GT School - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Georgetown, TX Full Time
POSTED ON 8/22/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/17/2026
  • On-site position: Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance available
  • $100,000 annual salary, full-time. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Reading certification mandatory (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent)

The most powerful intervention for a gifted six-year-old reading on grade level is refusing to let them plateau. If you hold structured literacy credentials and have witnessed how systematic phonics instruction reshapes emergent readers, consider what becomes possible when you direct those same methods toward children who aren't remedial—they're simply unchallenged. The result isn't incremental growth. It's 5–10x acceleration.

At gt.school, you deploy your complete skill set. No publisher-supplied readers. No mandated district curriculum maps. You facilitate focused early literacy sessions for gifted 5–8-year-olds, conduct running records, create your own ability-based groupings, and build each lesson around what assessment data reveals. Adaptive platforms manage content presentation. Your role centers on what technology cannot replicate: guiding a select group of exceptional students to exceed benchmarks months or years ahead of schedule.

Every single student achieves their adaptive software targets. Over 90% provide strong satisfaction ratings. This is the outcome when a credentialed literacy specialist serves small groups of gifted learners without institutional obstacles. You'll observe first graders who entered at benchmark suddenly consuming chapter books independently. It's the kind of breakthrough most reading interventionists hope to witness once in their entire career.

If you possess the credentials, the phonics mastery, and the belief that gifted children require acceleration rather than grade-level enrichment, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating targeted phonics sessions for gifted K–2 learners, with each lesson designed directly from student performance data rather than scripted materials
  • Conducting running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and establishing your own differentiated instructional cohorts
  • Delivering 1:1 and small-group motivational coaching through school rewards systems, performance boards, and individual rapport to support ambitious goals in adaptive applications
  • Monitoring live student advancement within adaptive learning platforms and adjusting instruction as data patterns shift

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whole-class lectures. Students progress via self-directed applications, not traditional teacher-led lessons
  • Supervising large classes of 25 children. Your focus is small cohorts of gifted students
  • Adhering to district timelines or preparing students for state assessments
  • Teaching content outside literacy and composition (math, science, and social studies are not included)
  • Drafting IEPs, attending district committee sessions, or managing administrative processes
