What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director of Family Engagement, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site (multi-city)
- W2
- $200K/yr
You will become the person they reach out to when doubt arises, when intuition signals concern, or when they want to share a milestone they know you will appreciate. You will understand each family thoroughly enough to sense their needs before they articulate them—and you will possess the discernment and poise to address what they present with confidentiality, genuine care, and seamless execution. Over time, you will transcend the role of school representative. You will become woven into the way they remember and experience this period of their family's journey.
Trust of this magnitude is not built through systems. It is cultivated through presence—steady, daily, and unrushed. You will be a consistent figure at morning arrivals and afternoon departures, at the evening gatherings that hold significance, and in the private conversations that never appear on a schedule. You will foster a community that families want to safeguard, where inclusion feels natural and referrals emerge from earned credibility.
Alpha operates outside the bounds of conventional schooling. Students complete core academic work in two hours daily through AI-powered applications, then dedicate the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied projects. No traditional lectures. No unnecessary assignments. Top 1% outcomes nationally. The families who choose this path are investing in a vision they support—but conviction requires stewardship.
You will sustain that dialogue with each family, through every uncertainty, for the duration of their enrollment. If articulating and defending an unconventional approach to discerning skeptics feels burdensome, this position will not suit you. If it strikes you as the most compelling conversation you could engage in, continue reading.
What You Will Be Doing
- Take ownership of the relationship with every enrolled family—the evolving, meaningful relationship that ensures parents feel understood, not merely attended to
- Identify potential concerns before they surface as issues, and address them with the tact and interpersonal intelligence that preserves trust
- Maintain visible presence in the spaces families occupy: morning arrivals (7–9am), afternoon departures (2–4pm), evening parent gatherings, and select weekend activities
- Develop a campus community with authentic depth—rituals, events, and connections that give families a sense of belonging to something they value protecting
- Encourage parent champions naturally, by delivering experiences of such consistent quality that referrals emerge as an organic result
- Sustain the ongoing dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven model with families managing concerns about screen exposure, skeptical relatives, and periodic uncertainty—not only during enrollment, but across their entire campus experience
- Recognize when a family is not aligned with the community and manage that conclusion with the same care you apply to all interactions—preserving the community is integral to serving it
- Create the structures and routines this position demands in a context where the framework is still emerging
- Overseeing enrollment processes—that responsibility belongs to the Admissions Director; your work commences once families join and grows deeper over time
- Operating from behind a desk—your engagement within the community defines the role
- Adhering to standard 9–5 schedules—early mornings, late afternoons, and evening events are inherent to the position, not occasional requirements
- Relying on administrative infrastructure, established protocols, or a complete team—you function with significant autonomy and create what is necessary
- Approaching family relationships as transactional accounts—this role rewards authentic connection, not procedural adherence
Serve as the trusted relationship anchor for every family's journey at Alpha. Maintain their confidence through challenging moments, cultivate a community where belonging is meaningful, and establish the environment in which satisfied families naturally become active advocates.
Basic Requirements
- Currently living within commuting range of one of these campus locations OR prepared to relocate within 60 days (preference given to candidates with established local community ties): Scottsdale, AZ; Denver, CO; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Boston, MA; Bethesda, MD; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; Park City, UT; Chantilly, VA; or Kirkland, WA
- Legally permitted to work in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship
- 5 years in a client-facing role serving high-net-worth or ultra-high-net-worth families—private school admissions, luxury hospitality, philanthropic advising, or any setting where discretion, warmth, and interpersonal sophistication were as critical as technical competence
- Proven capacity to maintain relationships through challenging situations with sophisticated families and preserve trust throughout
- Authentic presence and communication approach that quickly establishes confidence with affluent, high-expectation families—credible in a way that feels genuine, not rehearsed
- Direct familiarity with independent, private, or alternative education—either professionally or as a parent—that provides you legitimate credibility when families challenge the model
- Sincere conviction in AI-powered education and the capacity to sustain that belief authentically across years of parent relationships, not solely during the enrollment phase
- Availability for non-standard hours: early mornings (7–9am), late afternoons (2–4pm), evening events 2–3x/month, and occasional weekend commitments
Exceptional candidates will possess at least one of the following:
- Established connections within the local affluent community that would provide immediate, organic credibility on campus
- Private school or independent school background with demonstrated success in family retention and community building—not merely enrollment metrics
- Background managing high-stakes family relationships where your judgment and confidentiality were the foundation of sustained trust
- Natural ability to design experiences—events, occasions, settings—that make people feel connected to something meaningful and worth defending
- Prior startup or early-stage organizational experience where you built infrastructure from scratch and maintained composure amid rapid change
