What are the responsibilities and job description for the Parent Relations Director, Alpha - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- Location: On-site at Palo Alto, Piedmont, San Francisco, La Jolla (San Diego), or Los Angeles (South Bay), CA
- Compensation: $200,000/yr
- Full-time salary
- Benefits: Health, vision, dental, 401k, PTO, and more
This position anchors that trust. You will be the individual families turn to when uncertainty arises, when perspective is needed, or when something important warrants sharing. Not out of obligation—but because that trust has been earned. Your impact will define how they experience their child's learning at one of five California locations: Palo Alto, Piedmont, downtown San Francisco, La Jolla, or South Bay (Los Angeles).
Alpha is constructing a fundamentally different school. Students finish their core academics in two hours daily through AI-powered platforms, dedicating the remainder of their time to public speaking, critical thinking, and applied execution. No lectures. No busywork. Performance in the top 1% nationally. Our families are discerning, well-counseled, and frequently skeptical. They demand clarity, not rehearsed responses.
You will steward that dialogue over the long term. Not only at enrollment, but throughout the years. You will communicate fluently about AI—its mechanisms, its shortcomings, and its significance—particularly with families who launch companies, fund them, or demand rigor in every choice. If you cannot sustain that caliber of discourse, this position will prove burdensome. If you can, it becomes among the most intellectually stimulating roles in education.
This is not client management. This is enduring trust with ultra-high-net-worth families who require discretion, judgment, and steadiness. If that context resonates—and you use AI daily to think, write, and operate more efficiently—you will see the opportunity at once.
What You Will Be Doing
- Steward the complete relationship with every family on campus, cultivating trust that deepens over time
- Identify concerns early and address them with discretion, urgency, and reliable judgment
- Sustain strong visibility during critical moments: morning drop-off, afternoon pick-up, and thoughtfully designed parent gatherings
- Facilitate ongoing, substantive dialogue about Alpha's AI-driven model with highly analytical, technologically fluent families
- Create and iterate community experiences that foster belonging, advocacy, and referral activity
- Overseeing admissions pipelines or enrollment metrics—your work begins once families have joined
- Operating remotely or relying solely on email—this requires consistent physical presence
- Using scripts or sidestepping challenging questions about AI or educational philosophy
- Depending on established processes—you will create structure where it does not currently exist
- Viewing families as accounts—this role values judgment over task execution
Establish and maintain enduring trust with ultra-high-net-worth families, securing sustained retention, advocacy, and confidence in Alpha's AI-powered educational approach.
