Literacy Program Coordinator, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Salt Lake, UT Full Time
POSTED ON 7/28/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/19/2026
  • $100,000 annual salary, paid weekly, with health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Full-time on-site at one Alpha location: Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City or Tulsa, OK; Fort Worth (Keller), Dallas, Plano, or The Woodlands, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
  • 40 hours per week, 100% classroom-based with kindergarten through second-grade students

You've invested years in structured literacy expertise. Whether through Orton-Gillingham, LETRS, Wilson, IMSE, or a Master's in reading instruction, you can identify a student's decoding error and pinpoint the precise phonemic skill to address. You can build a phonics lesson from scratch without relying on a scripted curriculum. That level of mastery is expected. It won't differentiate you here.

What sets you apart is your ability to captivate six-year-olds the moment you enter the classroom. At Alpha, this position is first and foremost a Guide role: a dynamic, engaging presence that young learners genuinely enjoy working with. Your structured-literacy credentials qualify you for consideration; your capacity to command the full attention of a K-2 group during a 20-minute workshop is what secures your hire. If the phrase "dynamic, engaging presence" doesn't resonate as a core strength, this role isn't the right fit.

Alpha has dismantled conventional teaching models. Students progress through academic content independently using AI-adaptive applications—no traditional lectures, textbooks, or mandated pacing schedules. Your position represents the irreplaceable human element. You create small-group reading workshops informed by live student performance data, and you facilitate motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of your students achieve their weekly app targets through Alpha's motivational framework (school currency systems, leaderboards, developmentally appropriate gamification).

Your initial months focus on building credibility and connection. Workshops must be engaging, appropriately leveled, and demonstrably effective. Student satisfaction metrics and "love your Guide" feedback surveys (90% target) directly measure your success. Once established, your responsibilities expand: analyzing AI-generated performance insights to refine subsequent instruction, communicating fluency progress and decoding milestones to families, and contributing to the evolution of Alpha's K-2 literacy approach alongside adaptive technology. As Alpha scales to additional campuses, your work becomes the blueprint for reading instruction across the network.

Before an offer is extended, you'll submit a brief video presenting an engaging story for young children, and you'll complete a full-day campus visit working directly with K-2 students. Low energy with children disqualifies candidates regardless of credentials. This is intentional. Apply today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Creating and facilitating small-group K-2 reading workshops rooted in structured-literacy approaches (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, LETRS, IMSE, or comparable methods), informed by live student performance data
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions designed to ensure 100% of students achieve weekly adaptive-app targets, leveraging Alpha's motivational systems (school currency, leaderboards, age-appropriate gamification)
  • Conducting and interpreting running records, fluency assessments, and decoding evaluations to monitor student progress and inform instructional adjustments
  • Analyzing AI-generated performance metrics from Alpha's adaptive learning platforms to differentiate instruction dynamically, beyond advance lesson planning
  • Serving as the approachable, energetic adult presence your K-2 students eagerly anticipate each day

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Implementing a commercial reading curriculum, scripted lesson sequence, or district pacing calendar; you create lessons directly from student performance data
  • Delivering whole-class lectures; all instruction occurs in targeted, small-group settings while students access academic subjects through adaptive apps
  • Serving as a reading consultant, instructional coach, or district specialist; you work in the classroom with students daily
  • Managing a traditional classroom schedule—sequential subject lectures, homework correction, test preparation; your time is devoted to workshops, motivation sessions, and data-informed small groups
  • Grading homework assignments or preparing report cards; student progress is captured through app analytics and your assessment records

  • Experience in alternative or progressive educational settings (charter networks, micro-schools, Montessori, hybrid models)
