What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entrepreneurship Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- On-site position in Austin, TX (relocation assistance available)
- Annual salary of $150,000, distributed weekly. Full health benefits from day one.
You'll work with high school students who are building genuine companies with $1M upside potential. These aren't classroom exercises or hypothetical scenarios. Approximately 60-65% of your time will be dedicated to individual coaching sessions: pinpointing where each founder encounters obstacles, determining the most impactful next step, and ensuring accountability to a concrete action plan. The remaining 35-40% will be divided between monitoring academic performance and facilitating workshops that equip students with practical skills, not merely theoretical knowledge.
This role is not about traditional teaching. You are accountable for holistic student outcomes: entrepreneurial progress, academic performance, and personal development simultaneously. You'll rely on dashboards, venture updates, and academic metrics to coach with data-driven precision rather than gut feeling. When a student's grades begin to decline, you step in proactively. When a business hits a wall, you identify the actual issue, not the easier conversation.
You'll begin by understanding each student's venture, recognizing their capabilities, and identifying their friction points. Over time, you become the advisor they genuinely trust to challenge them, because you've operated in the real world yourself. The payoff is seeing a 16-year-old arrive with an idea and depart with a working enterprise, the self-discipline to sustain it, and academic results that preserve every future opportunity.
If you've been searching for a position where your operational background directly influences emerging founders, submit your application now. If you require a scripted syllabus, a structured classroom environment, or a role where effort alone is sufficient, this isn't the right fit.
What You Will Be Doing
- Providing 1:1 coaching to student founders on strategic decisions, execution challenges, and scaling efforts — representing approximately two-thirds of your weekly schedule
- Leveraging student dashboards, venture progress reports, and academic metrics to assess performance and clarify immediate priorities
- Tracking academic results and stepping in proactively when students show signs of wavering focus or time management issues
- Designing and delivering workshops with tangible, practical learning outcomes
- Facilitating stand-up meetings, debriefs, and group sessions that enforce accountability to self-defined objectives
- Conducting lectures or adhering to a fixed curriculum (you enable experiential learning, not traditional instruction)
- Offering broad mentorship or inspirational messaging without concrete next steps and accountability
- Handling student administrative tasks — calendar coordination, forms, or admissions processes
- Attending lengthy faculty meetings or dealing with institutional red tape (your focus remains on direct student impact)
Guide student founders toward ventures with $1M potential while ensuring they maintain strong academic performance.

- At least 1 year of experience working with young people (students, emerging professionals, or youth program participants) on initiatives, skill development, or entrepreneurial projects
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Personal experience founding, co-founding, or running a startup or early-stage venture
- Background as a Chief of Staff, program manager, or high-impact individual contributor with end-to-end accountability for results
- Familiarity with AI-powered tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Copilot) for coaching preparation, data analysis, or stakeholder communication
