Elite Sports Mentor, Alpha - $150,000/year USD

Crossover
Warren, NJ Full Time
POSTED ON 8/3/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 10/26/2026
If you believe the most compassionate act is to uphold rigorous standards, keep reading. You have excelled in an arena most people only observe from a distance: elite competitive sports, a top university with honors, a highly competitive firm, or a business you launched and scaled. Imagine channeling that drive into a classroom of K-12 students who have never encountered someone like you—someone committed to pushing them toward standards they believed were out of reach. If you think holding students accountable to excellence is unkind, this role is not for you.

Alpha leverages AI-driven 1-on-1 instruction, allowing students to complete core academics in roughly two hours per day. The rest of their time is dedicated to life skills, personal interests, and meaningful development. At Alpha's most demanding campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a credible mentor whose own accomplishments set the benchmark: someone who can gauge the atmosphere, establish expectations, and guide students through obstacles, distractions, and uncertainty.

Your role is not instructional. AI delivers the academic content. Your responsibility is to inspire, coach, and apply the same exacting standards you've lived by. Forty percent of your time goes to direct 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions that identify barriers and establish stretch goals. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed around mastery, not engagement for its own sake. The final twenty percent is dedicated to morning sessions that set a daily standard where settling is unacceptable.

This trajectory emphasizes depth over hierarchy. You begin by mastering Alpha's framework and earning student trust. Within a few months, you become the person students rely on to challenge them beyond their perceived limits. The return isn't a title change. It's the privilege of walking alongside the same students year after year as they mature. It's seeing a student who avoided eye contact in fall deliver a confident presentation to adults by spring.

This position remains focused on students. They are the purpose, not a means to something else. If you're considering leaving your current role because of the mission itself, not resume building, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions, leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify obstacles, establish ambitious targets, and ensure accountability for execution
  • Facilitating structured life-skills workshops focused on mastery, drawing on authentic examples from your own high-level experience, and validating mastery through Alpha's Test2Pass framework
  • Establishing the campus culture each morning with focused sessions that communicate and reinforce performance expectations
  • Monitoring student development continuously and refining coaching approaches based on evidence, not assumptions
  • Cultivating trusted mentorship with students and their families through unwavering standards, reliability, and clear motivation strategies

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lessons, creating curricula, or evaluating assignments — Alpha's AI-powered platform manages instruction; your focus is on motivation
  • Presenting to large classrooms of 30 students (your work centers on intensive, small-group coaching, not large-format teaching)
  • Supervising other personnel or advancing through management ranks (this position prioritizes direct student outcomes, not organizational advancement)
  • Attending lengthy staff meetings or dealing with institutional red tape (your schedule is centered on student interaction)
  • Compromising standards to satisfy performance indicators (if a student achieves 99%, your task is to understand the gap to 100%)
