At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-powered applications. No classroom lectures. No traditional textbooks. Approximately 60% of your time is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions covering public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. Roughly 30% involves individual and small-group student meetings where you examine Coachbot analytics and guide each child toward their weekly application targets. The remaining 10% is performance analysis that informs your coaching strategy for the coming week. You will not follow a rigid script; session frameworks serve as foundations, and top performers customize them and create new content when needs arise.

A successful semester means at least 90% of your cohort achieves weekly app targets, demonstrates quantifiable life-skill improvement on Test2Pass, and provides a rating of 4/5 or higher for their experience with you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means missing the mark. As you demonstrate your ability to maintain standards, advancement opportunities emerge to Lead Guide—mentoring incoming Guides while managing your own cohort—and eventually to Campus Lead, overseeing an entire school and managing family relationships.

If you prefer conventional teaching methods, expect curriculum to be provided entirely, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position will not suit you. If your background includes athletic coaching, camp counseling, tutoring where you refused to accept surrender, or performing for audiences of middle schoolers, the final evaluation stage is a full on-campus day coaching actual Alpha students. What You Will Be Doing

• Facilitating one-hour life-skills sessions for K-8 groups covering public speaking, concentration, feedback exchange, and other essential competencies, customizing the framework and creating new content when you identify missing elements
• Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation meetings that drive every child toward their weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot data, Alpha's reward structures (campus currency, performance rankings), and your individual relationships to overcome resistance
• Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's competency-based evaluation) for each life skill, then coaching students who fall short until they achieve mastery
• Adjusting your coaching approach across a broad developmental spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring dynamic energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct conversation and personal accountability
• Analyzing weekly cohort performance metrics in Coachbot, pinpointing students falling behind, and modifying your coaching tactics for the subsequent week based on data insights
  
  

What You Won’t Be Doing

• Delivering whiteboard instruction; academic content resides in the applications, not with you
• Creating a complete curriculum without foundation; you begin with an established framework and infuse it with your unique energy and narrative approach
• Passively monitoring students at workstations; motivation in this environment is dynamic, individualized, and persistent
• Working through administrative approval processes to secure resources for students needing support; when a child requires additional coaching, you decide and implement immediately
• Evaluating assignments, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling family communication; Campus Leads manage parent-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks do not exist in this model

Basic Requirements

• Able to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Beverly Hills, CA; Piedmont, CA; Greenwich, CT; Boca Raton, FL; Fort Lauderdale, FL; Miami Beach, FL; Palm Beach Gardens, FL; Chicago, IL; Raleigh, NC; Portland, OR (relocation assistance available)
• Bachelor's degree in any field
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with K-8 students (teaching in classrooms, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program management)
• A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a K-8 student toward a challenging objective: the objective itself, your actions, and the result
• Comfort allowing AI to manage instructional delivery while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching
• Authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship
  
  

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Background in youth sports coaching, debate programs, camp leadership, theater, or after-school initiatives where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward defined objectives
• Demonstrated record of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), indicating that maintaining rigorous standards for others reflects your consistent approach rather than an adopted stance
• Narrative ability and presentation skills sufficient to engage a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without voice escalation
• Proven success converting unengaged or reluctant students into motivated contributors

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $60 USD/hour, which equates to $120,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
