Early Childhood Specialist, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover
Denver, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 5/27/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 8/17/2026
  • $100,000 annual W2 salary, paid weekly; health, dental, and vision benefits from day one
  • On-site role at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)

You are not here to teach. You are here to motivate.

The most powerful thing you can do for a six-year-old who reaches 99% of their target is insist it isn't finished. If that expectation feels harsh, this role isn't for you. If it energizes you because maintaining high standards is how you demonstrate belief in a kindergartener's potential, read on.

At Alpha, K-2 students complete their academics through AI-driven applications in two hours daily. No classroom lectures. No paper worksheets. Half of your day is spent facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering public speaking, concentration, and feedback exchange. These workshops serve as frameworks, not rigid scripts — top performers in this role customize them for their groups and create new content when gaps emerge. The remaining half involves sitting with students individually or in small clusters, analyzing Coachbot data, and coaching each child toward 100% completion of their weekly app targets. With five- and six-year-olds, energy and playfulness aren't supplementary; they are essential tools for sustaining attention long enough to accomplish anything meaningful. Warmth creates the foundation that allows you to challenge. Challenging them proves you believe in their capacity.

A successful quarter means every student completes their weekly app targets, passes the Test2Pass assessment for each life-skills workshop, and 90% report loving you. Falling short on any of these three metrics means missing the mark. In your first year, you'll internalize the operational framework; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, opportunities open to advance into Lead Guide, where you mentor newer team members while continuing direct work with children.

If you prefer conventional classroom teaching, expect fully developed curricula to be provided, or see warmth and rigor as incompatible, this role won't suit you. If you've thrived as an early-elementary educator who excelled during circle time, a camp counselor for young children, a youth sports coach, a children's theater performer, or anyone capable of captivating a room of kindergarteners through vocal energy, play, and presence, the final stage before an offer is a shadow day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you most, submit your application today.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for groups of 10-15 K-2 students covering public speaking, concentration, feedback, and other foundational competencies
  • Conducting daily individual and small-group coaching sessions that maintain student progress toward weekly app targets, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (campus currency, leaderboards), and the personal connection you've established with each child
  • Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based evaluation) for each life skill, and continuing to coach students who don't initially pass until mastery is achieved
  • Engaging kindergarteners at their developmental level through songs, narratives, physical activity, and humor, while maintaining genuine, measurable expectations for first and second graders
  • Serving as the caring adult children are excited to see at morning arrival AND the adult who won't allow them to settle for less than their best

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering whiteboard instruction; academic content is housed in the applications, not delivered by you
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up; Alpha supplies the framework and you execute it effectively
  • Simply monitoring children at workstations; motivation in this context is hands-on, individualized, and persistent
  • Reducing a weekly target to make it achievable; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the goal
  • Evaluating homework, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent communications; Campus Leads manage family-facing responsibilities, and the other tasks don't exist in this model

Early Childhood Specialist Key Responsibilities

Ensure every student in your K-2 cohort achieves their weekly learning targets, demonstrates mastery of each life skill, and finishes the year reporting that they loved you.

Basic Requirements

  • Willing to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Phoenix, AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City (Salt Lake City), UT (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4 to 8 (early-elementary teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership)
  • A concrete example you can articulate of motivating a young child toward a challenging goal: the objective, your approach, and the result
  • Available to participate in a paid training program at our Austin, TX campus
  • Comfortable allowing AI to deliver instructional content while you concentrate on motivation and life-skills coaching
  • Legally authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth sports coaching, children's theater, camp leadership, Montessori/progressive early education, or after-school programming where you held direct accountability for motivating young children toward defined objectives
  • Personal track record of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional), indicating that holding others to rigorous standards is instinctive, not performative
  • Innate performer's energy with young children — the capacity to command a room of kindergarteners through vocal delivery, playfulness, and physical engagement
  • Demonstrated success transforming timid or reluctant young children into confident, engaged contributors
