Director of Institutional Advancement, Alpha - $400,000/year USD

Crossover
Denver, CO Full Time
POSTED ON 8/25/2026
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/16/2026
Families who enroll at Alpha seldom come from advertisements. They come because another parent looked them in the eye over dinner and said, "This transformed my child." You will own that word-of-mouth machinery for an entire region: the dinners, the parent ambassadors, the connections with the mayor's office, the executive who creates an opening for a 14-year-old's first meaningful project.

Your typical week involves four distinct settings. You plan and execute the region's event schedule—ranging from a 150-person open house to an intimate eight-person dinner—multiple times each month. You identify current parents eager to share their experience and connect them, one family to another. You cultivate ties with municipal leaders and corporate executives, converting those relationships into event venues, backing for new campus launches, and tangible opportunities for students. And you deliver the Alpha Networks: personal introductions, expert-led masterclasses, internships, alumni integration, tracked family by family.

No complete playbook exists. You create it as you execute, and the frameworks you develop are adopted by colleagues building identical engines in other markets. As your region expands, the performance bar rises: doors opened per family must increase even as total enrollment grows. Success is measured by the proportion of growth driven by real people advocating for Alpha, evaluated across years rather than quarters.

No degree is necessary, and no specific background. An MBA, a career in consulting or wealth management, and a self-driven path through community work, hospitality, or institutional advancement all carry equal weight. What matters is your demonstrated ability to bring people together and convert relationships into measurable outcomes.

This position is on-site in one of the following markets: San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Greenwich, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Dorado, Nashville, or Park City. Anticipate evenings and weekends in rooms filled with discerning parents, elected officials, and founders, along with frequent local travel. You will become the most networked individual in your city, and you will deploy that capital for students. If that exchange sounds like purpose rather than sacrifice, apply.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Planning and executing the region's event calendar: open events, curated dinners organized by city and grade level, and family retreats, multiple times monthly and within budget
  • Arranging venues, hosts, and vendors, then personally hosting each event
  • Identifying current parents to serve as ambassadors, training them with authentic narratives, and pairing them with prospective families and campus tours
  • Establishing relationships with government officials and business leaders, and converting them into event venues, support for campus expansions, and opportunities for students
  • Connecting enrolled families into parent circles and students into mentorships, masterclasses, and professional internships, and integrating graduating families as alumni within 30 days
  • Recording every event, introduction, and initial contact attribution in the CRM so "doors opened per family" represents an accurate metric

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Purchasing growth. No paid media, no advertising budgets, no impression metrics or lead-volume goals
  • Controlling the brand narrative or top-down campaigns; Marketing owns that
  • Handling admissions processing, conducting tours, or managing enrollment documentation; Admissions and Family Success own that
  • Managing a campus operationally, or overseeing the physical facility
  • Presenting raw attendance figures and headcount as though a filled room were the objective
  • Awaiting a complete playbook, a template, or administrative support before beginning

  • Established and sustained relationships with public officials or business executives that delivered concrete, identifiable outcomes
