What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Financial Operations, 2 Hour Learning (Remote) - $200,000/year USD position at Crossover?
This is not traditional FP&A. This is financial operations built for decision-makers who move quickly.
At 2 Hour Learning, you will not be reviewing outdated budgets or depending on business intelligence teams. You will design and deliver the models, dashboards, and control frameworks that provide operators and leadership with the precision they need to act with confidence—every day. Your output will underpin everything from new school openings to strategic course corrections, and it must be timely, reliable, and actionable.
You will take ownership of a live, AI-enhanced financial system. This includes integrated P&L models across each school and vertical, rolling forecasts spanning 12–18 months that remain current within 72 hours, and dashboards that isolate the two or three variables that truly drive performance. You will construct this infrastructure using Klair, Syft, and Retool—without relying on engineering resources.
If you seek a role where your financial models inform strategy and execution rather than simply documenting past activity, this position is designed for you. You will not observe from a distance. You will operate at the core of how decisions are made.
What You Will Be Doing
Provide continuously updated financial models, forecasts, and dashboards that enable daily decision-making and strategic visibility across a rapidly expanding portfolio of schools.

What You Will Be Doing
- Develop and maintain dynamic 3-statement financial models for each school and business vertical — integrating enrollment, staffing, and capital expenditures into a unified forecast.
- Refresh rolling 12–18 month forecasts on a weekly basis using current data, and perform scenario analysis to evaluate upside and downside exposures.
- Create executive dashboards powered by live data feeds — identifying critical performance levers and supporting confident, daily decision-making.
- Deploy AI and automation to identify anomalies, monitor variances, and remove spreadsheet inefficiencies from finance workflows.
- Produce concise memos that distill financial risk, strategic alternatives, and budget considerations — meeting board-level standards within 72 hours.
- Managing a sluggish budget cycle — your forecasts will adapt to the business in real time.
- Enforcing cost controls or tracking expense receipts — your focus is on insight and governance, not process overhead.
- Waiting for BI support — you will build your own tools, dashboards, and financial models.
- Getting lost in detail — your role is to surface the handful of insights that shift outcomes.
- Creating reports that sit unread — your analysis will inform decisions within days of delivery.
Provide continuously updated financial models, forecasts, and dashboards that enable daily decision-making and strategic visibility across a rapidly expanding portfolio of schools.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Math (CPA/CFA/MBA is a plus)
- U.S.-based and authorized to work without sponsorship
- Willing to travel approximately 25% to campuses across the U.S.
- 3–6 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, Big 4 corporate finance/M&A (not audit), or high-growth FP&A
- Demonstrated ability to build integrated 3-statement models aligned with U.S. GAAP
- Capable of producing investor-grade analysis and recommendations under tight timelines
- Active daily use of AI/automation tools (e.g., GPT, Klair, Syft, Retool, NetSuite automations)
- ERP experience with NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
- Background in multi-site education, facilities management, or operations-intensive industries
- Experience preparing board-level reports or materials for investors
- Proven success building AI-automated dashboards or low-code finance solutions
- Familiarity with high-end service sectors that demand rigorous financial discipline
