The best support you can give a student who earned 99% is to tell them it's not a passing score. If that statement makes you uncomfortable, this role isn't for you. If it resonates, read on.

At Alpha, students complete their academic learning in two hours daily using self-directed AI-powered applications. No traditional teachers. No lectures. No classroom content management. This structure allows you to focus on what truly transforms their future: facilitating high-impact workshops on public speaking, concentration, and feedback culture; using live analytics to drive every student toward goal achievement; and developing the Guides working with you.

A typical morning might begin with a one-on-one Guide coaching session, analyzing performance metrics and pinpointing cohort gaps. Mid-morning, you're delivering a structured workshop to students, executing a playbook exercise on feedback dynamics. Afternoons transition to motivation work: engaging individual students, identifying their intrinsic drivers, and applying Alpha's incentive framework to re-engage a struggling middle schooler. You maintain direct oversight of your own cohort, ensuring you continue refining the competencies you're training others to master.

You've likely been the outlier in traditional education settings: excessively metrics-oriented, overly outcome-focused, too comfortable questioning conventional wisdom about student development. Alpha may be the first environment that aligns with your approach. You'll begin coaching Guides immediately, and as you produce measurable results at scale, your authority over campus-wide program integrity expands.

Uphold the standard. Transform the student. Submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour structured workshops on life competencies (public speaking, concentration, feedback dynamics) for K-8 cohorts, executing Alpha's established playbook rather than creating original content
  • Conducting motivation interventions using student performance data and Alpha's incentive architecture (campus currency, performance rankings) to achieve 100% student goal attainment
  • Developing Guides on program adherence and standards maintenance, ensuring each coaching interaction yields concrete performance improvements
  • Overseeing your own student cohort while simultaneously building capacity in other Guides
  • Monitoring student satisfaction metrics, goal completion percentages, and Guide effectiveness indicators weekly to identify performance gaps before they escalate

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Delivering lectures or providing academic tutoring. Students complete coursework through independent apps without direct adult instruction.
  • Creating original curriculum or developing lesson content. The playbook is established; success requires precise execution, not creative invention.
  • Training Guides on instructional pedagogy. Guides don't instruct academically, so your coaching focuses on engagement, motivation, and accountability systems.
  • Allowing exceptions when a student achieves 99% rather than 100%. Maintaining standards demonstrates your confidence in their capability to reach full completion.
  • Serving as the emotionally permissive adult on campus. Students receive genuine connection here, alongside candid feedback and meaningful consequences.

Coach Key Responsibilities

Execute Alpha's three core commitments for every student in your cohort: they develop passion for school, achieve learning velocity twice that of traditional classrooms, and acquire substantive life competencies.

Basic Requirements

  • Available to work on-site in Atlanta, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Austin, TX; Keller (Fort Worth), TX; The Woodlands (Houston), TX; Park City (Salt Lake City), UT; or Toronto, Canada (relocation assistance available)
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or a comparable field
  • Track record of leading a team of 5 or more adults, including hiring and making performance-based termination decisions
  • Direct experience working with kids aged 5-14 in an educational or developmental setting
  • Built, launched, or significantly grew a program, team, business, school, or initiative from the ground up
  • Proven use of data and metrics to set weekly goals and drive decisions, not just report results
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or a related field
  • Coached athletics, led wilderness or experiential programs, directed camps, or ran youth ministry at a scale that required running cohorts and measuring outcomes
  • Left classroom teaching to build or run programs from a different seat: EdTech, tutoring businesses, youth nonprofits, or school intervention teams
  • Early-career track record of high personal performance — academic, athletic, or professional — before moving into leadership
  • Belief that the current education system is broken and personal investment in rebuilding it
