What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate, Alpha - $100,000/year USD position at Crossover?
- $100,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay; full health, dental, and vision coverage starting day one
- On-campus role at an Alpha K-8 school in Scottsdale (Phoenix), AZ; Oklahoma City, OK; Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, TX; Brownsville, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Houston (Central, South, or The Woodlands), TX; Park City, UT (Salt Lake City area) - relocation assistance available
The most meaningful support you can offer a student who has reached 99% of their target is to insist it is not finished. If that expectation feels uncomfortable, this role is not for you. If it energizes you—because maintaining high standards is how you communicate belief in a student's potential—then continue reading.
At Alpha, academic learning happens through AI-powered applications. There are no lectures or textbooks. You will spend half your day facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops covering topics such as public speaking, focus, and constructive feedback. The remaining time is spent working one-on-one or in small groups, analyzing student progress via Coachbot analytics, and driving every student toward 100% completion of their weekly app objectives. Workshops provide a foundation, but top performers in this role modify them and create new content when needs arise.
Success each quarter is defined by three metrics: every student in your cohort completes their weekly app goals, every student passes the Test2Pass for all life-skills workshops, and 90% of students report they love you. Falling short on any of these three means the role has not been fulfilled. In your first year, you will master the operational playbook; as you demonstrate your ability to uphold standards, advancement to Lead Guide becomes possible—a position where you mentor new hires while continuing direct work with students.
If you prefer conventional teaching, want a pre-built curriculum delivered to you, or view warmth and rigor as incompatible, this position is not the right fit. If your background includes athletic coaching, camp counseling, tutoring students through challenges, or performing for young audiences, the final step before receiving an offer is a full day on campus coaching actual Alpha students. If that prospect excites you, submit your application today.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life-skills workshops for K-8 cohorts on subjects including public speaking, focus, feedback, and other transferable competencies, modifying the playbook and creating new sessions when gaps are identified
- Conducting daily one-on-one and small-group coaching sessions that drive every student to 100% completion of their weekly app objectives, leveraging Coachbot analytics, Alpha's incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and individual relationships to overcome resistance
- Delivering the Test2Pass (Alpha's mastery-based evaluation) for each life skill, and working with students who do not pass until mastery is achieved
- Adjusting your approach across a broad age spectrum, from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to eighth graders needing direct conversation and accountability
- Serving as the adult who maintains expectations and the adult students trust; warmth establishes credibility to challenge, and challenging demonstrates belief in their capability
- Delivering lessons at a whiteboard; academic content is embedded in the applications, not delivered by you
- Developing curriculum from the ground up; you animate an established playbook through energy and narrative
- Passively monitoring students at workstations; motivation in this environment is direct, individualized, and persistent
- Reducing a weekly objective to help a student meet it; when a student falls behind, the solution is supporting the student, not adjusting the target
- Scoring assignments, conducting standardized test preparation, or handling parent outreach; Campus Leads manage parent communication, and the other tasks do not exist in this model
Ensure every student in your K-8 cohort completes their weekly learning objectives, achieves mastery in each life skill, and finishes the year reporting they loved you.

- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
