CONCRETE FINISHER

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Place, spread, consolidate, screed, level, and finish freshly poured concrete.
• Finish slabs, sidewalks, curbs, foundations, walls, ramps, and other concrete surfaces.
• Use hand tools and power equipment including floats, trowels, edgers, groovers, screeds, and power trowels.
• Create smooth, broom, hard-trowel, or other specified finishes.
• Check concrete surfaces for proper elevation, slope, flatness, and finish.
• Form and finish concrete edges and joints.
• Perform concrete patching and repair work.
• Install curing compounds and other concrete protection materials.
• Assist with concrete placement, vibration, and screeding.
• Monitor concrete conditions and determine proper timing for finishing operations.
• Maintain and clean concrete finishing tools and equipment.
• Coordinate with foremen and other crew members during concrete pours.
• Follow project plans, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Follow company safety policies and use required PPE.

Qualifications

• 2 years of commercial concrete finishing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of concrete placement and finishing techniques.
• Experience using hand finishing tools, power trowels, and screeding equipment.
• Understanding of elevations, slopes, joints, and concrete tolerances preferred.
• Ability to recognize concrete conditions and determine appropriate finishing timing.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a concrete crew.
• Dependable attendance and willingness to work extended hours during concrete pours when necessary.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to regularly lift and carry 50–75 pounds.
• Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, stand, reach, push, and pull for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements associated with concrete finishing.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
