Job Position – Associate Pastor - Community Center

Location—Community Center
General Scope of Position
Will provide pastoral leadership to the Community Center location ministries, the surrounding inner-city schools in the area in which we partner, and those needing pastoral guidance and wisdom in the community. Directly oversees community center specific positions and activities.
Organizational Relationships
Reports to Crossings Community Church (CCC or Crossings) Pastor, Missions Ministries and will work collaboratively and interact regularly with various vendors, CCC staff and volunteers across the various departments and ministries, venues, and locations, as well as with partners of Crossings to accomplish the goals and mission of Crossings ministries and the Community Center location.

Responsibilities/Duties
Adult Education
- Identify high-capacity men and women in leadership roles that can help establish and lead from a lay level with our Central structure at the location. Shepherd and develop these leaders.
- Develop a rhythm of recruiting, training, developing, and retaining men and women that help scale a thriving spiritually healthy volunteer team at the location.
- Partner with the Location Pastor and Connections Ministries Pastor in shepherding and caring for people of the congregation through Prayer Teams, hospital visits, benevolence, and pastoring 1:1’s.
- Work with Life Care Ministries in collaboration with Pastor, Missions Ministries in discerning care series needs for the Community Center participants and congregation.
- Host weekend Center church services as needed.
- Preach and teach up to 12 times per year in the Center church adult worship space.
- Oversee the program coordinator and volunteer coordinator.
- Stay aligned to Fix, Flex, Free. Be a champion of unity and collaboration within the community center location and our multisite model.
- Keep staff informed of changes and/or additions to church policy changes.
- Work with the other CCC locations on collaboration partnerships related to connections and events.
- Assist in maintaining the highest possible ministry standards and professional ethics in accordance with the goals, Purpose Statement, and Core Values of Crossings Community Church
- Support the leadership of CCC, contributing to the spirit of unity among the staff, congregation, and community center.
- Represent Crossings in civic and ministry-related efforts as approved or requested
- Perform any other duties or tasks to accomplish responsibilities associated with this position or as may be needed or assigned to fulfill the needs, mission and goals of Crossings’ ministries
- Exhibit a passion to walk with people and develop them in their faith journey.
- Be a proven and effective leader in the areas of responsibility attached to this position.
- A multi-tasking team player with high energy, strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Google, Apple and ProPresenter, Applications.
- Demonstrated understanding and ability to share the gospel of Jesus Christ from an age appropriate perspective.
- Strong presence teaching to large audiences of children and adults.
- Understand and support Crossings Statement of Faith, Vision, Goals, Ministries, and Core Values.
- Perform pastoral duties as assigned or needed.
- Be open to learning about and embracing the core principles and values of Crossings ministries and its Wesleyan roots.
- Willingness to be credentialed by the Church of God.
- Be able to walk a long distance (up to a quarter of a mile); and be able to lift and carry 25-35 lbs. parcels for distances of up to 500 feet.
- Able to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs.
- Possess a current unrestricted driver’s license.
- This is a safety sensitive position where the employee holding this position has the responsibility of his/her own safety and the safety of others including minors.

Education and Experience
- Shall possess an undergraduate degree, at a minimum.
- Experience in pastoring a location ministry, leadership development and staff management.
- Attends Crossings Community Center Church on a consistent basis to understand culture, mission and vision.
