Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of Crossing Healthcare, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). This position is responsible for day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, general ledger maintenance, bank deposits, managing consumable and non-consumable inventory and payment processing. The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while ensuring compliance with FQHC regulations, federal and state requirements, and organizational policies.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries to the accounting system.
- Record and reconcile daily bank deposits.
- Process and code Accounts Payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines.
- Enter and reconcile payments into the General Ledger system.
- Support supplementary billing and perform follow-up as assigned.
- Maintain complete and organized accounting records in accordance with GAAP and compliance standards.
- Assist with reconciliations of balance sheet and revenue/expense accounts.
- Ensure segregation of duties, accuracy, and timeliness of financial transactions.
- Support financial reporting requirements, including preparation of schedules for auditors and grantors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer.

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience required
- One to two years’ experience in health care setting desired
- Education or experience in accounting or bookkeeping desired
Physical Requirements:
- Primarily sedentary with occasional walking, standing, bending, and light lifting (1–5 lbs.).
- Standard office environment with regular use of computer and telephone.
Salary : $20 - $27
